Wow, that's horrible bkb...my thoughts and prayers are with you. I got some bad news about my mom last night too, ironically, but nothing of this magnitude. I hope that you had (and still have) a chance to do some things and say some things that will help put you and her more at peace with it.

Sorry, not trying to be flippant...I feel for you, and I hope that she goes peacefully and that your family is able to handle it as best they can.

Let me know if there's anything I or anyone here can do.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I bothered posting it at all. Hate to be such a downer, but I know I can count on you guys for some kind of support. It's a little weird, I guess. I mean, I've never met any of you people, and yet I spend a good deal of time with ya.. so.....

Actually, I"ve spent a great deal of time with her over the last month or so, so that's been good. I keep wishing for one more "normal" day, but I'll take what I can get. She's still alert (Well, when she's not sleeping) so I'm sure we'll get a chance to have some convo.

Edit - sorry, callous of me.. sorry you got bad news about your mom. I hope things work out OK..

No no, the last thing I want to do is threadjack, this is totally about you. I was merely expressing that I have empathy as well as sympathy because I'm going through much the same thing...but I'm not at that stage quite yet...last night did get me thinking about all that though, which is why seeing this really hit me.

But thank you for your sentiments all the same.

Try to say strong for her and take advantage of the opportunity to say goodbye. I know times like this can never be made easier, but at least you get an opportunity to let her know how you feel about her and to not have any regrets.

We're definately all with you on this one...if you ever need an outlet, this will be the place for it.

I'll try, though having watched her over the last couple days, I think the Docs are right. I guess its one of those things, I knew it was coming, and figured I was pretty well prepared, but when the time gets there, well... it's still a bit of a shock.

You're right though, gotta keep positive.

Don't know if you feel this way too, but one of the only times I really still feel young is when I contemplate losing a parent...and feel like I'm way too young for that to happen.

Again, thoughts and prayers to you all in dealing with this as best you can.

I'm sorry to hear the news bkb...keep your head up and stay positive. Remember that when it happens she will be going to a better place. Your memories of her will always be with you and even though her life may be taken, no one can take her memories away from you. Spend as much time with her as you can, and remember that we are all here for you whenever you need someone to talk to. Send me a PM anytime buddy and take care. She will be in my prayers tonight.
