Multiple shootings at Va Tech

On a lighter side, I really hope that people don't go out and buy Virginia Tech gear and start wearing it around in a lame attempt to support them......much in the same fashion that people bought FDNY hats after 9-11. I say it tongue in cheek, but I could really picture that happening........

Agreed. Any team that gave a waste like Macrus Vick chance after chance doesn't deserve to do well. I hope they go 0-11 just like I do every year.

Refuse to watch anything or read anything about this idiot. Why? Because that is exactly what he wanted. As soon as I heard he sent the package with his pictures, videos and writings to NBC after the first killing and before the second, it becomes painfully obvious that his reasoning for killing all those innocent people was just for attention and infamy. I won't give him any more.

Well, arguably he is the most "successful" gunman and one of the most "successful" murderers in history. He deserves his infamy.

There was a bomb threat at a nearby school today... where they arrested three students last year for planning an attack. School is in session, but will have a heavy police presence through the end of the week.

I could do without the NBC clips discussing how "awkward" it is to be made part of the story. Wipe off the drool and just report the news... ugh.

NBC blew their wad when they got that package. they claimed they had investigators come in and and check out the box since it was suspicious. what was suspicious about it? nothing unless you opened it and not to mention you managed to record the entire tape and get copies of all the writing and photos while you were having authorities come in to investigate the box.....please. i would of had more humor if it was a bomb and hit NBC. and yea the guy obviously wanted some media attention but at least he gave an "explanation" for the acts. he never really gave a reason as to whom he was attacking or what for and just kinda beat around the bush on the topic. basically a socially deprived person with a past where he prolly got beat up in high school and decided to just vent his frustration since he realized how bad his life was. just my take. like i said nothin you could do about it after the person has made up their mind.

NASCAR jumped on it first....

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR will allow race cars to display the Virginia Tech logo for the next three weeks in tribute to the victims of this week's shootings at the school.

The logo will be displayed against a black background on the area just to the right of the driver's side window net on cars in both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday and Saturday, Talladega Superspeedway (April 28-29) and Richmond International Raceway (May 4-5).

girl was at Columbine and VT shootings

"It?s going to take time," Regina Rohde told Matt Lauer on TODAY. "People are living minute to minute, not being able to cope with anything. Eventually it becomes hour by hour, week by week. It takes a lot of time."
Rohde knows. Eight years ago, she was a freshman at Columbine High School in Colorado when two classmates, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, came in armed to the teeth and bent on murder.
And now, on Monday morning, it was happening again. Rohde wasn?t in the direct line of fire, but she knew that a gunman was on the prowl, and she found herself experiencing the same emotions as she had in 1999.
"It was a lot of the same reactions. ?What?s going on? Who?s hurt? Where do we go?? ? the same kind of questions that we asked ourselves" at Columbine, she said.

I figured that Nascar would jump on board, they are kings of shit like that.......... Hell, most of their fans still wear Dale Earnhardt jackets.........so, I guess that Nascar probably see's a cherry picking opportunity from a marketing standpoint. :hatepc:

And, inevitably, we have the shooter shouldn't have had a gun in his hand story.

McLEAN, Va. - A judge's ruling on Cho Seung-Hui's mental health should have barred him from purchasing the handguns he used in the Virginia Tech massacre, according to federal regulations. But it was unclear Thursday whether anybody had an obligation to inform federal authorities about Cho's mental status because of loopholes in the law that governs background checks.
Except that in VA they parse that code. So because Cho was treated on an outpatient basis VA law no notice to the Fed database needed. Had Cho been admitted to hospital onto the notification list his name would go, but he did not, so his name did not.

So nut job, whacko, disturbed and suicidal murderer Cho gets his gun(s).

And the rest is as we read it earlier.

what a surprise. like it matters....if he wanted a gun he could get one off the streets with ease and get ammo with ease.
