Multiple shootings at Va Tech

I just got back from the VaTech alma mater playing from Orton/moment of silence that was today at 3 on the oval. Bigger turnout than I expected, I'm sure they'll have it on the local news tonight as there were some news trucks out there. Definitely a chilling/goosebumbs/sad moment. I think people realize this could have just as easily been here @ osu. RIP.

It's being reported now he mailed a reading of his "manifesto" and pictures of himself with the guns to NBC between the first shooting and the second shooting.

Maybe it's just me but I prefer the term "manifesto" to represent something with literary worth. Heck, even the Unabomber's was interesting to read. I seriously doubt this guy is capable of that.

From what I understand it's rambling and angry...I highly doubt there's any redeeming literary value.

Eh... I guess part of it was more or less, "I hate Rich People, so I'm gonna kill them"

Not quite as catchy as the proletariat vs. the bourgeiosie but... you know... pretty much the same thing.

I mean... If he had started it "A spectre is haunting Blacksburg?the spectre of crazy south Koreans named Cho..." do we give him extra credit?

I agree with you - they showed the VT shooter's video on NBC. Not only is the material dire, but the delivery if completely flat .. which makes this even scarier in a way.

On a lighter side, I really hope that people don't go out and buy Virginia Tech gear and start wearing it around in a lame attempt to support them......much in the same fashion that people bought FDNY hats after 9-11. I say it tongue in cheek, but I could really picture that happening........

I do not know how reliable this is, but look what I found....

Meanwhile, the father of Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung-hui reportedly committed suicide. Radio Korea, a broadcaster for Korean expatriates in Los Angeles, said rumors spread in Virginia’s Korean community that the killer’s father slashed a main artery with a knife after learning that his son was identified as the gunman in the shooting massacre. The shooter’s mother also tried to kill herself but failed and is in critical condition, the broadcaster added.

Refuse to watch anything or read anything about this idiot. Why? Because that is exactly what he wanted. As soon as I heard he sent the package with his pictures, videos and writings to NBC after the first killing and before the second, it becomes painfully obvious that his reasoning for killing all those innocent people was just for attention and infamy. I won't give him any more.
