Mozilla Firefox (official thread)

Just curious what you guys think of firefox 3.0...Is it worth the download?

I've had it since the beta was first released. The memory management is a LOT better than 2.x so leaving a few tabs open won't end up using all your RAM eventually.

That alone makes it worthwhile.

On the other hand it is still more of a memory hog and is a tad slower overall than Opera (my default browser).

I love the new location bar features. As you type, it pulls history and favorites to bring the web page you're looking for. Now I don't even have to click on the bookmarks dropdown. CTRL+L then type :)

I haven't tried on this, but supposedly there's some pretty good blocking features for known malware sites. Using Google blacklists, the browser will put up a big warning before allowing you to proceed to sites that are loaded with nasty stuff.

Firefox 3.5 Latest Version Update

Has anyone updated to the latest version of Firefox? I can't get it to run on my laptop. It crashes the minute I launch it. All of the research and Mozilla help says this is fixed.

Help!

Anyone having trouble middle clicking with the scroll wheel (to open new tabs)?

Most of the time when I try, it scrolls just slightly, moving the link out of range. I can then lightly adjust and click the link, but it's a bit annoying, and wasn't happening pre-upgrade.

I am not. I didn't even know you could do that. Thanks :)
