While there isn't anything specific to BP, you can get some of those options for the forum software we use; search for "vbulletin."

I use a bunch of web development ones, but the others that seem to come in most handy right now are:

"Save File To" (pre-defined folders saves a ton of time navigating to the same folders repeatedly)

Smart Bookmarks Bar (shows just the favicons in the bookmark bar so you can have tons of sites there)

Rehost Image (or Imageshack toolbar for more options) - just right-click an image and it's rehosted & on the clipboard to be pasted on BP

Screengrab (save a little bit of a page or the whole thing)

I'm not tech-savvy, but I wonder if these issues above have to do with the hanging that my wife has experienced on her laptop with 3.6. I'm fine on my PC, but she just can't go more than three pages without it freezing. I've cleared all history, cookies, and taken the steps I believe are sound... all to no avail. Just told her to stick with IE for a while.

Same problem on my wife's XP laptop. 5-10 second freezes all of the time, sometimes on consecutive page loads.

Its not a loading thing either, the whole thing locks up... sometimes well after it loads, other times during, etc.

Identical situation, josh. My wife has an inspiron 15 with Windows 7. Everything else works well except for the Mozilla (which I happen to be on today). It seems like a rather periodic thing now, but I've informed her to steer clear for a while.

My wife uses ubuntu, so her options are Chrome or Firefox, Chrome for Linux is still in development, seems like they get one thing fixed to break two more. Currently she's about as frustrated as you can get.

Firefox 4.x/5.x

Anybody else using this yet?

I'm liking it so far. Speed wise, it seems to have caught up with Chrome. It also has a lot of the little gadgets and options that I liked about Chrome, but with a look and feel that I prefer. After adding some new extensions (I hadn't really looked at extensions in a long time before yesterday) I've been able to free up a substantial amount of vertical real estate when I'm browsing.

I really like the app tabs. Combined with an extension to add badges to them, I can keep Gmail, Facebook & Twitter open and get updates in real time.

What are those extensions?

I like FF4.0 so far, however, I've lost all my scrolling abilities on my Thinkpad.

Edit: Nevermind, just installed the latest UltraNav from IBM and scrolling is back

Tab Badge: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-badge/
There are similar extensions out there that work just for Gmail. This one works for Gmail, Facebook & Twitter (and probably more)
Others that I'm now using that are compatible with FF4:

Awesome Screenshot: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/awesome-screenshot-capture-/
Screengrab - the extension I had been using - was broken by the update. I don't think I'll be going back. Awesome Screenshot is faster, easier and more powerful. My only gripe - the button can't be moved. Hopefully that will come in an update. EDIT: Disregard my recommendation for Awesome Screenshot. When operating multiple windows of FF4, closing one window causes the entire damn browser to shut down. That's unacceptable for me, especially at work where SAP opens links in a new window. This cute little bug just cost me 30 minutes in the task I was working on while I wait for my old session to time out because the system thinks it's still open. Read more about the bug here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2139371
Hide BookmarksBar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hide-bookmarksbar/
Toggles the the Bookmarks Toolbar between hidden/visible. I'm used to using the toolbar, but wanted more vertical real estate. This allows me to toggle on, right click to open favorites in a new tab, then toggle off in a quick and easy manner.
Movable Firefox Button: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/movable-firefox-button/
This was the first extension I installed after updating. That Firefox button was big and ugly. This shrinks it to the size of an App Tab and allows you to move it anywhere on the toolbar.
The Copy Plain Text extension that I used in Firefox 3.x is now broken and I didn't see a suitable update, which is kinda frustrating.

Some good breakdowns: What’s New and Awesome in Firefox 4 | How to Fix Annoyances with Firefox 4’s New Look

I am hoping to download it and try it out this weekend

Taking the risk of upsetting a lot of people (again), I have to note that most improvements firefox gets are basically 1:1 copies of Opera's long-existing features, albeit often poorly implemented. See attached image for example: Firefox tries to save space by putting the tabs up like opera, but it just doesn't quite work (compare to Opera). Pinning tabs and syncing is really old news for Opera.
or just don't do the ugly menu button (really, that's something no one does except those two, and both the button and the menu behind it are ugly and very random (with a bad meaning of random, here).

chrome did this right, from the start. why had opera and firefox done the copy in such a bad way? it's not like we need that menu often during daily usage, anyways (we shouldn't).

it's just there to take away space that could be used for tabs. both vertical, and horizontal.
I guess, though I have no problem with the menu button...as long as it doesn't take up extra vertical space like Opera.

You're probably right though, Chrome's way is better, since it takes up space in an area that has space to give. Once you get 50 tabs open that menu button starts getting annoying.

I'm hopeful I can finally replace Chrome, which made Firefox obsolete. It is a fantastic browser, but I hated not being able to copy & paste images / links into forums. If anyone has an extension for that task let me know.
