MO WR Jeremiah McClellan (Oregon Signee)

This.

I like McClellan a lot. I'll probably be in the minority on this, but I'd take him over Jojo

McClellan is a Swiss army knife where he can do a little bit of everything well, from the speed to the double moves to the athleticism to showing he has the willingness to block with some authority. I can see why Hartline loves him. I think Jeremiah could develop into something special with his coaching
Trader is the better prospect to me in pure talent terms, but Jeremiah is pretty darn close and seems like less of a headache. I think he has some Olave in him with how rounded he is. So all things considered, I would be ecstatic to land him and call it yet another outstanding WR recruiting class.

Ohio State WR target Jeremiah McClellan drops his Final 5

Soon has arrived. Today McClellan announced his Final 5 on Twitter. As expected McClellan’s Final 5 includes Ohio State. His five is made up of Ohio State, Oregon, Missouri, LSU and Georgia.

At this point, if McClellan commits then I think we are done at WR. Seems like we took a pass on Elijah Moore and with Trader committing elsewhere, I don't see any other realistic targets unless Hudson would happen to want in. So I would imagine we go all in on McClellan. Frankly I didn't want more than 3 WRs given the last two classes at the position...would rather that extra scholarship go elsewhere like OL, DL or DB.

We didn’t take a pass on Elijah Moore. FSU won that battle vs Hartline. Hartline is human after all lol

I have no inside info whatsoever, just seemed like Moore wanted to commit but we were pursuing Trader, McClellan and Hudson harder to me.
I think both of you are correct. Hartline seems to be pushing harder for McClellan, Trader or Hudson, but he still would've taken Moore's commitment. But Free Shoes put Moore as a priority, and Moore was essentially going to be the 4th rated WR at OSU(for good reason), and he chose as he's a top 2 WR in their class(depending on what position Lawayne McCoy plays).

But I think we're seeing a similar scenario with McClellan. He can be the #1 ranked WR in the Oregon class or #3 at OSU. And schools are starting to recruit WRs with a strategy to tell them that they'd be an afterthought at OSU. As much as I'd like McClellan in this class, I don't think he's a need. OSU is in an insane logjam at WR, and taking only 2 in 2024 would still make their class every bit as strong as 2023. OSU will have 7 WRs on scholly after this season(and that's with losing MHjr, Egbuka, Fleming and X Johnson). And then you include the 2 from 2024, and you still have a very stocked WR room, and a ton of options for rotating. This is another talent that OSU could lose, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over. Yet if they land him, I'd be elated and root for him as loud as any other Buckeye
