No one outside of their mothers gave two shits for the guys in the Ray Lewis case. People care more about dogs than thugs; animal shelters more than homeless shelters.

The US attorney is going to make the biggest example of all time of Mr. Vick. I don't really think that dog fighting is all that big of a deal. It's sick and vicious and sleazy, but I don't think dogfighters are public enemy no. 1; not even no. 50. I've said before, the only good pit is a dead pit, but I do think that the best possible role model Vick could be is by taking it hard in this case, losing all of his endorsements and not playing ball again. Maybe some impressionable kids on the fence will see that even someone at the very top of the mountain can be held accountable and that will make a difference in their lives.

I'm oppossed to dog fighting, but Vick was raised in a culture that saw nothing wrong with it... not unlike people who smoke weed because they think the law is wrong, or folks who drive and drink... (and I'm not saying if I do or don't.) This doesn't free him of responsibility from the law, but it certainly qualifys as something a jury would be asked to consider.

negative. ignorance/disagreeing with the law is no defense for violating it.

Sick Vick

:osu:Having lived in the dc metro area and having to sufferably listen to the garbage spewed forth by the Vick "give him the benefit of the doubt" supporters that have not even informed themselves enough to rread the indictments, I for one can't wait for the actual trial process to begin so that this scumbag and his "peeps" get what the hell they deserve. Any federal indictment is almost worth it's weight in gold at a 95% successful prosecution/plea rate. This makes people forget about Clarett around here so I don't have to hear about that dope anymore for now. If I do all I have to remind people about is the family Vick and their great contributions to society.
