AJC - Vick's Family Feud Burglary? There have been no charges filed in the case of alleged dogfighting at Michael Vick's home in Virginia, but that doesn't mean that the home has quieted down.
According to a police report obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the home in Surry, Va., was broken into between May 7 and May 18 and a number of expensive items were removed.
"I don't think it has anything to do with possible evidence," Commonwealth attorney Gerald Poindexter said of the dogfighting investigation. "I think it was some feuding over the spoils."
Three plasma televisions, two floor buffers, a wet/dry vacuum, a washer and dryer and a $17,000 leather sofa were taken from the Atlanta quarterback's home.
"Someone had attempted to break in the front window," the police report said. "The alarm was not working."

What about washing/cleaning something (bloody) in the washer/vaccuum?The two-story, white brick house Vick recently put up for sale was burglarized between May 7 and May 18, according to a police report obtained by the AJC.
"I don't think it had anything to do with possible evidence," in the dogfighting investigation, Poindexter said. "I think it was some feuding over the spoils. Some people believe that in getting ready to sell the house, Vick had promised stuff to some family members and other people felt they deserved things."
Stolen were three plasma televisions (62", 42" and 32"), two floor buffers, a wet/dry vacuum, an upright washer and dryer and a leather sofa valued at $17,550 combined. The perpetrator(s) entered the home through a back, side window, according to the police report, which indicated the "alarm was not working." There has been no arrest.
According to Poindexter, the burglary is not believed to have compromised the grounds in a wooded area behind the house...

According to a WVEC.com report (citing ESPN Radio), nearly three dozen dog carcasses were found on the Virginia property formerly owned by Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick.
The warrant to excavate and search the property was executed earlier today and based on the video, it was obvious that they began to discover the remains of dead dogs early in their search. The remaining portion of the day was spent digging up the rest of Vick's former yard in order to find any and all remaining deceased K-9's.
Local dog-fighting investigation moves ahead; Vick cancels camp
Associated Press
RICHMOND, Va. - The prosecutor who questioned why federal authorities would take an interest in a suspected dog-fighting case possibly involving Michael Vick sounded a conciliatory tone Friday and said there would be "parallel investigations."
Surry County Commonwealth's Attorney Gerald G. Poindexter said he, Sheriff Harold Brown and the rest of the team that has been investigating the case since 66 dogs were found on the property on April 25 still intend to meet soon to review their evidence.
"They launched a separate, independent federal investigation," Poindexter said of the government, which has had a representative involved in the local probe all along.
"We are just pursuing parallel investigations."
One day earlier, within hours of being told that a sealed federal search warrant was being executed at the house, Poindexter reacted much differently, suggesting that Vick's celebrity as an NFL quarterback was driving the government's interest.
