Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

that's very true. i bet the pitbulls were just pets, the mini treadmills were for midgets, the lowered squares that resembled mini gladiator rings were just emptied hot tubs, the blood splattered all over walls/ceilings/air conditioners was just paint, the carpets that were rolled up with blood all over them were really just there so the paint didn't drip into the emptied hot tubs, the steroids that were there were just for barry bonds......

I'm sure there are just 836 coincidences going on here.

I am done...You guys can believe what you want and I will believe what I want...You guys havent done have the following I have on the stroy, and if you have more power to you, but I am unable to do anything more with this discussion, it is pointless for me to try and preach to a choir that wants to crucify Vick...

I mean the article linked above, the main source was the person that was taken off the case for illegal activities...Yeah great source to believe...Then this post about stuff that is only about half true...Back some of this shit up please...
You are posting about things in this post that are maybe about half true...

Please read this thread, it brings so much light to the situation IMO...Look at the picture of the one dog...

I guess I will leave you guys with this parting mark, don't believe everything you read and hear in the media...I thought you guys would of known that by now after the Clarett saga, but I guess not...

Disclaimer: I have never said that Vick is not involved, I am just merely pointing out that he is not as guilty as the media has made him out to be and yes there is still a large chance that he was not involved at all besides the fact that his name was on the property, and there is still a chance that there was never dog fighting going on at the property...

Got a link for the search warrant, they had an interview with Pointdexter about them not allowing the search warrant...

ESPN.com: Warrant obtained, not executed at Vick property

Find me where I said that dog fighting didnt happen...I am just putting it out there that they still have to work on putting the case together, for that...There isnt much evidence out there, to really make a strong case on dog fighting going on...There is evidence, like blood stains, one dog with scars, couple that were underfed and the treadmills and rape toy or whatever it is called...

SI.com - NFL - Special Report: The House on Moonlight Road - Tuesday May 29, 2007 12:10PM

In a room about 16 feet square Strouse found blood: a smear on one wall, splashes near the base of walls, a spattering on a jacket hanging from an air conditioner. She also found a dog tooth on a bucket. Yet the most convincing evidence that this was the "pit" -- the dogfighting arena -- was the rectangular area in the middle of the room devoid of blood. "Dogfighters put down carpet to give their dogs traction," Strouse says. Investigators would eventually find a bloodstained carpet elsewhere on the property

No, there's not. There's about a 5% chance he wasn't betting tens of thousands of dollars per fight. Everything else happened. He's a shithead. You don't have to crucify him, but I sure as shit wouldn't be doing anything close to defending him.

We as citizens address people are innocent until proven guilty when it matters in a court of law. At this point, I'm not sure there are enough "smoking guns" to prove Mike Vick was involved with what happened with these dogs. It is his property in title, but right now, if it went to court, what is there that places Mike Vick at the scene of such crimes? Somebody was involved with dog fighting, but we haven't heard enough to nail him to such involvement, without a doubt.

Personally, I think he's as guilty as sin. Where there is "smoke" in this world, there will be fire. We've seen plenty of smoke from this guy's character before, when it comes to "Ron Mexico" herpes issues, flipping the hometown fans off, and secret compartments in water bottles. This isn't a guy with a halo above his head - he's been dragged into the principal's office more than once, and with good reason(s).

But the way justice works in this nation is by placing the benefit of the doubt with the accused, not the accuser. So until we see legitimate evidence that places Vick at the scene, of being involved with dog fighting, crazybuckfan40 does have a point to defending Michael Vick.

Smoking gun or not, sooner rather than later someone is going to be more than happy to throw Vick under the bus. Maybe someone that lost some cash to him in a bet, maybe someone who doesn't care if he gets booted.
At this point, it's clear that the local law enforcement smells blood and they want to nail Vick because of who he is. If that warrant turns up the carcass of a dog or 20, they're going to dig as deep as they need to to find something on him.

At this point, it's not looking good, especially when Joey Harrington is your backup qb.

no he doesn't. I don't work for the law, so I don't have to think anybody is innocent until proven guilty. I have the luxury of being able to use my brain and see he's clearly a sick individual who is majorly involved with dog fighting.

While I agree that he's very probably guilty of involvement with illegal dog fighting, I still loathe the statement "Where there's smoke, there's fire."

That exact line was used repeatedly in the ESPN attacks against tOSU in 2003-04, and seeing it still makes me cringe. I see that line as a simple way of presenting an argument without detailing the facts.

This is a valid point; I have serious doubts that Vick will ever be convicted. But Roger Goodell has shown that he doesn't require a legal conviction before suspending NFL players.

At some point we are all going to have to admit that Vick's career has gone to the dogs.

Till then though, the press should stop hounding the guy.

A little pause for thought. :)
The opposing stadiums will have a field day (Who Let the Dogs Out?)... cowherd's joke

Some may think you're 'Spot' on, but I think you are barking up the wrong tree; this story has been the tail wagging the dog.

Many want to blame ESPN for everything, but that dog won't hunt.

I admit some of these puns are the pits - no bull. :tongue2:

Report: Vick linked to dogfighting

Associated Press

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Informants have come forward saying Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was involved in dogfighting, a prosecutor investigating the case said.
Brown and Surry County Commonwealth's Attorney Gerald G. Poindexter told WAVY-TV of Portsmouth, Va., there is evidence linking Vick to dogfighting, which is a felony in Virginia.
"We have informants," Poindexter told the station in an interview Wednesday. "We have people who are volunteering to make those allegations."
The case began April 25 when police conducting a drug investigation raided the house Vick owned in rural Surry County and found dozens of dogs. They also found items associated with dog fighting, including a "pry bar" used to pry apart a dog's jaws.
No charges have been filed in the case.
Vick, a registered dog breeder, has blamed relatives for taking advantage of his generosity and insisted he's rarely at the house - even though he's the owner. He has since sold the home.
