Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Vick hasn't looked that awful, but my God you were right CrazyBucky, their defense, with the exception of that one goal line stand today. I think a lot of it may be that they're down from last week's loss, and being eliminated from playoff contention, but they should show some more respect to the fans than they are today that came to support them. I honestly expect the Falcons to come out hard next year and be a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

what makes you think they will be any better next year? its not like they had any really significant injuries or that they don't have plenty of talent right now as it is.

You sure about these statements?

I guess thats easy for me to say, being a Philadelphia fan, considering that virtually the entire first team offense and many key players on defense have been out for the season for some time now, whether it be injuries or stupidity (cough cough TO). Hell, even our kicker was hurt significantly during the season.

So yeah, Atlanta is no where near that point to have lost that much talent to make that much of a difference when it returns next year.

Anyone catch the Fox crew discussing the NFC pro Bowl QB's?

In a nutshell the only QB worth a damn in the NFC is Hasselback (sp) and any other QB's chosen were only there because they had to send someone.

Kind of ironic how they were essentially echoing a lot of what has been said here. Especially the part about Vick being no more deserving than J Delhome(sp).

On a side note, anyone see Ron's little brother New Mexico stomp the Louisville player while he was down? Class act by a member of a class family. I'm thinking the herpes sore doesn't ooze far from the lip in this clan.

Haha. You're absolutely right. Well, Virginia Tech is a very unclassy university, and as far as Vick being in the Pro Bowl... well it just baffles me. I could probably think of 10 more QB's that are far more deserving than him in the NFC. Hell, Schaub looked like a better quarterback than him this year.

just look at the QBs playing in the NFC playoffs

Hasselbeck
Grossman
Baby Manning (barely over 50% completions, barely over 1:1 TDs over INTS)
Simms
DelHomo (can't spell his name, I like Thumps better)
Brunnel

Compare that to the AFC:
Manning
Plummer
Palmer
Brady
Big Ben
Leftwich

Other than Leftwich, it is possible that the other 5 QBs are better than Hasselbeck. Actually it's not possible - it's true.

Bledsoe is just as good or better than any of those NFC QBs you mentioned.

Sorry. I'm going to have to disagree with you. Hasselbeck has been a helluva QB this year. His game has escalated to a much higher level. I was impressed with Bledsoe at the beginning of the year, but he definitely slowed down at the end of the year.

Well Hasslebeck also had the NFL's leading runningback (both yards and TD's) to help him out. Julius Jones is not quite at that level yet.

Hasslebeck still had a great season, don't get me wrong, so im not taking anything away from him.

I'd say that Hasselbeck definitely proved that he was an elite QB yesterday (at least in the NFC). After losing Alexander, I expected him to make stupid move after stupid move. He definitely proved me wrong, and also proved that no matter who they're missing that they'll be a tough knock-out in the playoffs.

I agree, Seattle proved something to me yesterday after Alexander went down early and them still playing pretty well and coming out with the victory.

I hate to bring this thread back up but there is a thread on the pro bowl so I just thought I would post it here.

Vick was 4-12 69 yards.

He had a couple balls that were nicely thrown and dropped and he had a miracle throw that was caught by Fitzgerald. His int was not a good pass.

He also had a big 3rd and 17 run where he picked up the first down and got them in fg range.

he led the NFC to 13 of the 20 pts and the other 10 came on an int by Derreck Brooks for a td and a fg led drive by Hasselback.

Overall he once again showed what he can do with some talent at wideout. He has also been vocal about the offense in the past week, and he is hoping for some changes next year. Also it was a Falcons show out there with Vick having a td pass, Crumpler with a td and Hall with a big return after Roy Williams int.
