Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

As a Titan fan you better not say too much. You have a taller, slower, just as accurate version of Vick waiting in the wings. Vince will drive you insane. Also Jenkins can't catch a cold, the Falcons have probably 8 drops tonight. No one on Atl. can catch the ball besides Crump and he dropped an easy TD in the 1st Q. Tough night all the way around. Not sure why the starters are still in at the 2 minute warning. If Vick or Dunn gets hurt Mora will be hung when he gets back to Atl.

I have to say that Atlanta was not going to get any calls or any benefit of the doubt tonight, I don't think. The jury is out right now, they still played two good games, but if Vick still sucks like he did tonight in the next few games, he is out of excuses, because this offense is supposedly designed around him. It's put-up or shut-up time.

The offense will be better, but he still won't put up huge #'s. I don't know what is considered a successful for him in the eyes of doubters. If he throws 20 TD's and 12 Ints and rushes for 800 yards and 6-8 TD's is that good? What if he has those #'s and they go 6-10? Does the team record determine his success? It is hard to quantify a "good" year for Vick for those who think he is a RB playing QB.

Agree, Falcons get behind and they are screwed. Vick locks on to Crumpler and has terrible accuracy.

CBF40 said it best... all of the haters didn't seem to want to discuss Vick's success after the first two games against pretty good defenses, where he spread the ball around pretty nicely (contrary to what 7 45 would like to suggest based on one game).

Does Warrick Dunn suck as well, Vick haters? B/c I'd say he had a worse game than Mr. Vick.

Really, I didn't bring the post back up. You could say the same thing about the excuse makers, no matter how bad he plays it is has to be something other than Vick. I am sure we can blame the turf tonight or something on Vick's poor performance. Its early but the Panthers and Bucs are a combined 1-5. Would you agree that Vick is dumbfounded when his running game is stopped? Because in the games I have seen him play, he can't win games with his arm. Yes there were some drops tonight but a 12 for 31 performance, there were some terrible throws in there also. Vick sure looked off to me with his touch and accuracy.

All of this talk about what is a successful season for Vick. Well, first off don't you think he should have near 60% completition percentage in a west coast offense? This his what, his 6th season..I am still not seeing any improvement in his accuracy and touch. Right now I see him as a QB that will put on a few spectacular hilite runs and running games and people will drool over him and say he is coming around. And then bam he will have numerous performances like tonight when his legs are in check. Alright so you I jump on him on one bad game. If you base it over past seasons, what is so special about him other than his legs? 32-23-1 as a starter or something like that, 54% completion %, 54 TDs, 40 INTs. That is not anything special. I am not seeing the deserved hype. Why does he deserve the hype because I am not seeing him as a top 10 QB in this league. Great legs, yes but there is more to that as a QB. Isn't that basically an average QB when you combine everything because that is what I am seeing.

Yeah, well I realize that the Titans are many years away from being a contender, so therefore I am inclined to bash Vick, the QB who greatly improved.

Vick's completion percentage is well under fifty percent now, and I still am not sold on his arm. I don't give a flying fuck if he can run the ball. The guy needs to get it done with his arm, if he wants to win at the NFL level.

Also, Vick isn't even the Falcons' x-factor. It's obviously their defense. When they play well, it seems that they play better offensively. When all of this happens, they're playing shitty teams.

Lastly, Vick getting hurt might not be the worst thing in the world. Schaub's a reliable backup and maybe if you looked past the fact that Vick is fun to watch, you'd come to the realization that Schaub is a BETTER quarterback.

Well you werent here after the good games against Carolina and Tampa, so I have nothing for you...

The Falcons were up against the world tonite and it showed. Tough spot for them.

You're right, I wasn't. However, I wasn't impressed with him, either game. Sure, he got 170 rushing yards in those two games. But he was 20/37. And while he only threw one pick, he played against one DECENT team; the Panthers. I was actually more impressed with his 10/22 outing in that game.

Their schedule looks tough. I'd be astonished if they win ten games.

I didn't bump the thread, I just said it was time for no more excuses. No more West Coast offense, no more "lack of help", and all that. I also said he had 2 good games, and didn't get much help today. He has 13 games to go...2 good games AND 1 bad one do not indicate anything yet.

As far as putting up huge numbers, no, he doesn't have to put up Peyton Manning numbers to be a good QB, but he has to be more consistent, has to play a little better when they get behind, and has to be able to throw the ball in the clutch. Some of that we saw in weeks 1 and 2, and I saw none of it tonight. I am more than willing to give him some more games to see if this is an improved Vick or not...but if it isn't, well, y'all talk about "the haters"...what will it take for "the lovers" to admit he isn't everything he's hyped to be?

Seriously how many of you guys sat and watched the first 2 games. And if you want to say that Tampa and Carolina don't have good defenses I don't know what to say to you.

No one is mentioning that Vick had 127 yds rushing against the Bucs. His game is not all about passing.

One last time, it is not all about Stats with Vick....Plz get that thru your heads. If you tell me he was 12 for 32 or whatever he was I will say I dont care. He brings so many other things to the game.

Also his receivers werent getting open last nite and there were quite a few drops. One was a td pass.

Also him and the Falcons were up against the world last nite and after the blocked punt it was basically over.
