Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

With a few notable exceptions - its takes 4 years to develop into a good NFL QB. Eli Manning is going through it right now. So is Vick.

This is Vick's 5th season. If he hasn't developed as a QB now or develop the accuracy in his 5th season then he never will. Atlanta is fucked with him because they gave him that ridiculous deal.

I think this is all that needs to be said about the development of Vick.

GS Comp% Yards Yds/Att TD INT Sacks Rating Fum
13 183 54.3 2136 6.34 13 12 26/139 71.8 10

11-5 and an NFC championship bid is pretty fucked

Yeah... I'm starting to have my doubts about Vick, too. He did play a great Bears defense last night, though. Also, he's only played 4 full seasons. However, he should be adjusted now. Schaub has played pretty well when he's been in. The problem is that the Falcons would never want to get rid of a guy like Vick because he is such an exciting player to watch.

Here is a very good gauge...If you are a coach down a TD, and you need to drive the length of the field in a hostile environment with the clock winding down...would you want Vick as your QB. Me, no. I can think of at least 6 QBs off the top of my head I'd rather have.

Vick has never even been able to match his 2002 production, which was 2936 yards on 54.9% with 16 TDs to 8 INTs...not exactly worldbeating numbers. This year, assuming he completes the last 2 ballgames, there is a good chance he will still probably not reach the attempts, completions, yards, completion% (about the same), TDs, INTs, sack #, pass plays over 20 yards, pass plays over 40 yards, and rating that he had in 2002, just his second in the league, and his first full season.

I'm not seeing much improvement from then, and therin lies the problem. If he is about what he is going to be, then the Falcons won't make the Super Bowl as they are.

Brady, Palmer, B-Roth, P Manning, Leftwich, Green, Brees, Plummer, Brunell, Bledsoe, Eli, McNabb, Favre, Hasselbeck, Bulger, Delhomme....

Who gives a fuck. All I know is Vick hasn't improved as a QB in system where the QB's completition % is suppose to improve not get worse. So Vick gets no blame for a possible non-playoff season and his horrible passing display this season? Kordell Stewart made 2 AFC championship games in a tougher conference at the time then what the NFC was in 2004. The Falcons played 3 teams with winning records last season and beat an 8-8 Rams team in the playoffs that was #17 in total offense and #25 in points against.

This whole argument will be over one day soon.

Mexico will blow out a knee or some such serious leg injury, lose his running ability and then he's just Trent Dilfer instead of Trent Dilfer who can run, which is all he is now.

Then the eternal media suck job will revolve around what could have been and turn their focus to New Mexico aka Marcus Vick.

BTW for anyone who asks what QB I'd rather have than Vick here's off the top of my head:

Brady
Manning
Pamler
Roethlisberger
Hasselbeck
Bulger
Brees
Green
Delhomme
McNair
McNabb
Leftwich
Culpepper
E Manning
Favre

Is 15 out of 30 teams enough?

And still with those stats that I displayed and the Falcons record I still hear somebody like Irvin say he is a pro bowl QB this season. What a crock. Right now Bledsoe, Hasselbeck, and Brunell have played better this season than Vick.

Then Vick can focus on controlling his herpes.

Yeah, but who takes Michael Irvin seriously?
