NEW YORK (AP) — The NFL has suspended Michael Vick indefinitely.

The suspension comes after a plea agreement was filed in federal court in Virginia today, in which Vick admitted his involvement in a dogfighting ring.

In a summary of facts in the case, Vick admits to backrolling Bad Newz Kennels and its gambling operation. He also admits to participating in the execution of dogs that did not perform well in testing sessions.

The summary says Vick did not place bets himself, nor did he receive any winnings.

Vick is scheduled to formally enter the plea Monday. The judge in the case is not bound by the sentence recommendations. The charges are punishable by as much as five years in prison.

Vick's attorney says his client's role “was different” than that of his three co-defendants in the case, and he would try to explain that to the court.

What totally kills me is.....

The astounding apologists for Mike Vick in the ATL. I mean who else did Vick screw over the hardest??? He screwed over his TEAM MATES! He screwed over Arthur Blank! He screwed over the season ticket holders! He screwed over basically anyone in or around Atlanta. He screwed over EVERYBODY when he lied to the team owner about his actions regarding dog fighting and gambling. If he had admitted it to Arthur Blank (AT LEAST BEHIND CLOSED DOORS) the Falcons could have planned their NFL Draft day just a little bit more wisely! The Falcons could have picked Troy Smith in the fourth round and believe me, every time I hear a Vick apologist, it's the first damn thing I tell them. "IF ONLY VICK HAD BEEN HONEST TO ARTHUR BLANK..........man, ya coulda had TROY SMITH IN THE FOURTH FRIGGEN ROUND!" Thats followed by the blanket statement by me "SOMEBODY HERE SAID THE FALCONS SHOULDA PICKED TROY SMITH!!!!!" (((who coulda that been, anyone remember?))):biggrin::oh:

I'm going to start telling all the Mike Vick jock sniffers they don't even deserve Troy Smith. They deserve exactly what they got, Joey Harrington! Furthermore they dont deserve Michael Jenkins either, and that they should trade him immediately.... (which unfortunatly for me looks like that'll now likely happen if they can get something for him):io:

I'm betting the Falcons will not win more than 4 games this year! The result of Mike Vick deciding to be a complete and total F-Wad!

Agreed, Goodell isn't taking any shit when it comes to people getting into legal troubles.

Your admitted conduct was not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible. Your team, the NFL, and NFL fans have all been hurt by your actions.
