I gotta say this one kind of pisses me off. Not that I want to ever see him throw a pass in an MSU uniform again but that all he did was parade about how he was about the team and being a Spartan and then as soon as it got tough or he was not the starter he jumps. I would not be so aggravated if I did not have to constantly hear about what a fantastic leader he is and how his intangibles are off the chart....blah blah blah. I don't typically have an issue with anyone transferring. It is 100% up to them and college football is not easy in the least. So if a kid wants to move on then they should all get 1 free one with no strings attached. And he will always have the unbelievable game against UM so there is that.

As a side note my daughter got an email about open tryouts for football......:biggrin2:.....down to about 70 players at this point

MSU is now processing players like many programs. I am not sure how this is going to go. But CMT is not one to sit pat. And I am not over the moon that we have now added a Temple QB. He may be good but honestly it does not excite me much. The RB from Auburn is interesting and the LB from USC is also interesting. At the end of the day the top programs are typically very good at defining talent hence the reason they stay as top programs. So who is recruiting you is important unless the school rhymes with SCum. And I think Lombardi should be clearly hearing the reason he is no longer the starter if he is headed to a MAC school. If he was a top half B10 QB he would not be headed to a MAC school.

Good news for you... that Olsen kid from Wheaton can kick the shit out of the ball. No joke.

Most of Michigan State’s roster headed home following Saturday’s practice, the final session of spring ball. Some of them won’t be coming back to East Lansing for summer workouts.

Six MSU players appeared in the NCAA transfer portal Monday, signaling their intent to leave the program. Tight end Tommy Guajardo, offensive lineman Damon Kaylor, defensive lineman DeAri Todd, long snapper Bryce Eimer, defensive tackle Chris Mayfield and defensive end Jasiyah Robinson are the latest portal entries from MSU. A total of eight Spartan players have entered the portal since spring practice ended, as offensive lineman Justin Stevens and kicker Jack Olsen submitted their names on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The latest developments bring MSU to a total of 25 transfer portal departures since mid-November.

None of the six players who entered the portal Monday have appeared in a game for the Spartans. Guajardo, Robinson, Mayfield and Eimer spent one year at MSU, arriving as members of the 2020 recruiting class, the last group signed by former head coach Mark Dantonio's staff. Robinson opted out of last season amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Kaylor was at MSU for two seasons and Todd was around for four.

MSU head coach Mel Tucker and his staff have been very active in acquiring players through the portal to offset the personnel losses. The Spartans will have more than a dozen new transfers on their roster this fall, including five who arrived in January for the spring semester.

“In terms of recruiting, there’s been a lot of talk about the transfer portal, and there’s a lot of activity in the portal for us and everyone in the country,” Tucker said last week. “Our activity in the portal is gonna be based upon the circumstances of our team. I just want everyone to understand that we’re gonna do what we have to do to build our team. I don’t anticipate necessarily being in the portal as much in subsequent years. We, ideally, would like to build our team through the high school ranks, and that’s really our primary focus. We will use the portal to complement and supplement the talent on our team.”

Just sayin': Looks like Met Tucker is just cleaning house and upgrading via the transfer portal.
