Michigan Coaching Speculation

on another note im kinda shocked they App State hasnt been given an offer to join the ACC or Big East. fact remains that they can compete.

I know it makes you guys feel better to talk up Appy State but they cannot compete week in and week out in a major conference. Not enough depth of talent.

That said, the BE has made schools like Rutgers and Uconn look legit in a short period of time so it might work for APSU but I doubt it. I question how they would recruit at the 1-A level. What does their school have to offer academically and socially to get kids to want to go there? North Carolina isn't a hotbed of HS football talent to the best of my knowledge and you have Butch Davis building up UNC just down the road.

The ACC is dangerous because eventually FSU and Miami are going to be good again(maybe UNC as well) and that would give you 4-5 quality teams at the top who would make it very tough on a 1-AA school trying to make the move up.

So I guess I'd say BE as a maybe at best, forget anyone any stronger than that(besides the ACC has 12 and doesn't need anymore).

What they need to do is find a way to form a league with Notre Dame and the rest of the service acadamies. :wink2:

Did anyone mention that Les Miles has a Michigan buyout in his contract that he just signed. Could it be that he signed the contract to get some heat off him as he heads to the NC game and he will go to Michigan after the game.

He's had the same buyout clause in his contract since he's been at LSU, it's nothing new.

Geiger -- actually, maybe all of Ohio State -- think the job is better than it is. It's the same disease that afflicted Alabama and Southern Cal during recent coaching searches.

Yeah, shame on the Buckeyes for settling for Jim Tressel, and shame on the Trojans for settling for Pete Carroll.

As for CBS Sportsline, they are afflicted by they same disease that afflicts Alabama. They both hire idiots like Dennis Franchione and Dennis Dodd.

No shit. Before the awesomeness in the little house to start the season, App State had lost something like 7 in a row to 1-A teams. That includes last years NC team losing to a 3-9 NC State team. They aren't some super power giant killer, they're just the best of the 1-AA midgets. That's why it's absurd to suggest any of the 1-A over 1-A upsets this year were bigger than scUM losing to a 1-AA team in the little house.

Wouldn't surprise me. Why does Les signing the new contract preclude him from taking the UM job after the NC game? It's not like they upped the buy out or anything. If he would break the old contract for Michigan, then he'd brak the new one too. I don't think Les is out of it until a new head guy is introduced in Ann Arbor.

Rumor has it Appy State is gonna replace scUM in the Big Ten. :tongue2:
But seriously they screwed over DeBord and English, and they may be their best bet now.
Trust Carr and Martin to screw this up.
Sad, no one really wants this.

I agree it's a mess of 2girls1cup proportions. If the AD has known for 3 months Lloyd was done at the end of the season I would think the guy would have gone through back channels and vetted most of this stuff already. In addition to coming up with a list of 5 to 10 people to contact as soon as the season is over.

2 girls 1 cup? that's BAD. i have never seen, nor will i ever see the actual video. the youtube vids of people throwing up when they watch it are good enough for me.
