I swear to God, if you watch the replay of Mallett's TD run, you can actually see the stadium shadows move in the time it takes him to get to the endzone!
EDSBS had a comment that Mallett runs like John Navarre wearing snow shoes.

Michigan fans already gaining confidence back on Yappi...

"Graham at DE has been a beast since they have started him. Its freed up Crable to run around, and the DB's played 100% better. I wouldn't say that this game makes Penn State look that bad. I would say PSU will win all of their home games this year."

Graham at DE was a beast because the tackle for PSU always blocked down. Graham either came unblocked or was taken by the RB/FB. Hell, who wouldn't be a beast?

I think that game said much more about PSU than it did about scUM. PSU's offense is not very good at all. They didn't light it up against NoD, and they looked weak and slow against scUM. And of course, Morelli sucks.

My favorite was the "quiet" jab about PSU winning all their home games this year! He basically said... "Well, Michigan is pretty much the best now they beat PSU SOOOO PSU wins every other game this year!" When really PSU just showed how bad they were!

BUFFALO scored more points than Michicken did!

Buffalo also wasn't starting a freshman QB with almost no experience, and Buffalo gave up more points as well. I don't agree with the jab at PSU either, they won't beat the Buckeyes. No way, no how unless Boeckman goes Morelli on you guys.

Buffalo also doesn't have the #2 or #3 (or whatever Mallet was rated) QB coming out of HS.

Ohio State fans, of all people, should know HS star ratings don't guarantee success. Ask Anthony Morelli how his 5* and #2 overall QB ranking is working for him now. Mallett is doing a great job of not losing the game and that's all Michigan needs him to do this year.

Finally got a chance to watch this game (first half so far), and this is a statement loss by PSU, not a win by UM.

Hart turns in a fine outing and carried his team (as always), which the media seems to think is what turned around the season.
Mallett threw a couple of near INTs in the first half, including one right in King's gut in Michigan territory. That doesn't count the screen pass which came closest to a surging PSU defender.
UM only had one scoring drive all day.
The other was spoiled by continuing struggles at the PK position. How often does Gingell have to fail before giving Wright a shot? He's 3 of 7. This miss was ugly.

Game changing plays thus far:
- Brandon Graham unblocked (like he regularly, including both sacks), he makes a big hit and forces a fumble. Pretty easy play.
- Ryan Mallett somehow scrambles 20 yards slower than Charlie Weis. That was certainly a freak occurrence.
+ 7 pts for UM
- Butler was wide open for a routine TD pass, which Morelli threw 15 feet in the air... PSU settles for a FG.
- 4 pts for PSU

That's an 11 pt swing in a game decided by 5 pts. The what-if game should be left for PSU's board, but I would not come away feeling warm and fuzzy if I were a UM fan. I'd celebrate the win and chuckle at the continued ownage, but I'd be concerned moving into the bigger games down the road.

In general I agree w/ you but I'll say this for UM. They DO perform quite a bit better against non-spread offenses. Granted, Morelli just doesn't seem to have much QB talent but I still think that UM stacks up much better against your typical PSU, Wiscy team than, say, Perdon't. I'm hopeful that when it comes down to The Game, we have an open offensive gameplan that exploits the clear weakness in their D.
