Michigan 14, Penn State 9 (final)

So Penn state fans are pretty upset, been glancing around at other forums and people are jumping off that bandwagon as fast as they did when scUM lost to a 1-AA team. I think the sudden realization that they may have been a tad over-rated hasn't gone well with them.

That's good to see, but it's tempered by the rediscovered arrogance of scUM fans and jock sniffers in the media, as they turn their eyes toward backing into another Rose Bowl (and losing it).

The difference between Penn State and Notre Dame? Penn State has an A-list defense. Otherwise they have one of the worst offenses in the history of modern football. You see two teams destroy a squad with the spread and you don't even try the same vanilla spread plays you did when Zack Mills was there? That team has wasted 5-7 high calibur defenses the past 10 years with really crappy offenses and the inability to play in the clutch. Bottom line is until they get a new coach the defense will be great and the team will be mediocre.

If you can vote for I-AA teams in the big boy poll, does that mean you can vote for I-A teams in the I-AA poll? If so, here's how my I-AA ballot would look this week:

1.) Wofford
2.) App. State
3.) M*ch*g*n
4.) Penn State

.
.
LAST.) Notre Dame

Associated Press

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Two weeks after its season seemed lost, Michigan has new life.

Mike Hart ran for 153 yards on a career-high 44 carries and scored early in the fourth quarter, leading the Wolverines to a 14-9 win over No. 10 Penn State yesterday.
The Wolverines (2-2, 1-0) have climbed back to .500 after starting the season with two of the worst losses in school history.
"Some people will still talk about us in a bad way," Hart said. "But a lot of people will see that Michigan is back."

I just love how the national sports media is so ready to hand the Big Ten title to the scUMmers and quickly forget what they accomplished (or didn't) before they beat a disgraceful ND team and an overrated PSU team. Is it only because they all picked them to win the Big Ten and perhaps play for the NC? Or are they this delusional?

That win over Penn State was uninspired and the local "Bad News Bears" could beat ND. The Penn State offense must really suck, they could only score on three FGs against that Michigan defense. No way are they winning the Big Ten or any thing else this year. Of course, Mike Hart could always guarantee it! :wink2:

If they want to say tsun is back after beating the worst of all the BCS teams and an overrated PSU then let them. The catch 22 for tsun is they have to feed Hart the ball 30+ times a game to win, forget the NFL he wont last this season with that much abuse. Tsun is absolutely nothing without Hart and very beatable by a good team with him.

Even worse, does anything think that Penn State has a top 10 defense in the nation?

Sure they have some talent, but scUM was able to move the ball - hell Buffalo was able to move the ball against them.....
