During his Michigan career, career leading rusher Mike Hart never beat Ohio State. And while he will never "like" Ohio State, he has given the matter considerable thought and refuses to think Michigan is a winner in this situation.

Hart has become friends with former Buckeyes and current Colts receiver Anthony Gonzalez, and even sent him a text last Monday telling him how disappointed he was Tressel resigned. Hart had said he hoped Tressel kept his job and the Wolverines were able to beat his team.

"I really think Jim Tressel is a great coach," Hart said. "I hate the school, I hate Ohio, can't stand them, but I think he's a great coach. Whatever happened didn't make him a better coach. The players were doing wrong, and (Tressel) broke the rules, which obviously is wrong, but it's not like he was giving them steroids to give them a competitive advantage.

"I think he was great for the Big Ten, he dominated the last six seven years in the conference and nationally. I think this hurts the Big Ten, honestly. I think he made the rivalry better between Michigan and Ohio State. I'm not happy about (his resignation). The way I feel about it, it's kind of like this (USC tailback) Reggie Bush situation ? yeah, he accepted money, but it didn't make him a better football player. If Tressel was paying players $100,000 to come to Ohio State, yeah, that would taint it, but selling their stuff for tattoos isn't making them better players on the field. There wasn't any cheating on the field. But if you cheat, you cheat. That's more character than coaching."
