Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

Its true that Miami has the athletes, but they don't have an adequate Oline to keep Harris upright. He won't be getting the ball to too many players from his back. And not having Cooper, will be huge. He would at least make them a tad more formidable. If they have to win with Harris' arm, I wouldn't be scared at all. Our Dline will have him running for his life all game!!!

:osu:

I would also say that their coaching staff is a liability, but that's just MHO.

This one has been stewing for some time though. The 'canes think THEY have the motivation for this one. HA! It is going to be Biblical.

It would be nice to be on the winning side of one of these early season OOC butt-kickings, that's for sure.

I have a feeling this game is going to be an offensive clinic for TP.

Possibly the game that solidifies the inevitable pre-season Heisman hype he'll be getting.

Key game: Sept. 11 at Ohio State. No, this game won?t have any bearing on the ACC title chase, but what better way to announce that you?re all the way back than with a high-profile win in Columbus? Miami delivered a few surprises last September, and won?t be unnerved by this first meeting between these schools since the controversial 2002 National Championship game in Temp.

Efffffffffff youuuuuu!

I didn't know much about Miami's starting lineups but the few things that stood out on paper were that they have a big strong safety and a very small SAM & LDE. There is a lot of youth on their starting O-Line, but besides that unit, the rest of the starting lineup is primarily Seniors and Juniors. Harris' play (extremely inconsistent QB) will dictate the game IMO, as to whether it's close or not. If he's off, game over. I'm not sure how well their young line will play on offense, but either way, a lot of the outcome here depends on which Harris shows up.

You cannot go wide east-west on them. Speed they have in abundance on the d-line and backers. But you can run it up the gut on them. If you play Tressel ball - with a little more use of TP's legs to keep them honest and some short crossing routes to keep them from blitzing all the time you will win this going away with almost their double time of possession. If you try to be something you are not, then bad things will happen.

Tress is Tress, so no worries there. You win by at least 14 and intercept Harris twice.

I love thinking about this game. We should be able to simply run down their throats. I think it will actually be a lot like the PSU game from last year. Run, Run, Run, and then throw deep. Except this year, we should be better at running and a little better at passing.

Not only that but our D line should absolutely manhandle their O line! Cam Heyward should I have a monster game!

I got a ticket for the block O. Just for this game, but I am stoked. I missed a ticket window but somehow got this game and I have no idea how. Can't wait to see Cryami relive their woes against us in the Shoe'.

Why aren't we playing this at night? I thought we would be playing all of our high profile OOC games in the Shoe under the lights, as we did with Texas and USC.

Bama vs PSU is the night game for that day. Plus, I believe we had scheduled Marshal for a night game and the University typically only likes to schedule one night game per year for a variety of reasons.
