I'm gonna be at this game as well. My buddy who's a Miami fan(ironically) got us tix. Can't wait to rub it in his face, and go to Little Bar later and have the entire crowd laugh at him and mock Miami's arse whooping!! Go Bucks

I thought tickets didn't come out until July? If not, where do I purchase?

I honestly have never seen a fan base with such lofty praise for their team when the results on the field have been so extremely mediocre.

I mean, if you read their board you would think that the '10 version of the Canes was being led by Vinny Testaverde and Jerome Brown.

This is a mediocre team at best. I hate to say that given that it only helps our strength of schedule if they are good, but I just don't see it.

There are at least 3 other games I'm more worried about this season.

Am I missing something?

Miami are not as talented and will not finish as highly as we do at the end of the year barring OSU going through an Oklahomaesque bout of injuries. The thing that you might be missing in terms of where the worries about this game come from has been the tendency of Tressel's teams over his tenure. It has seemed as though that during Tressel's tenure his teams have been a bit slow out of the gate but constantly improving to playing their best ball in november. Now all well coached teams (ie: not Michigan) improve throughout the season but there seems to be something in Tressel's model for approaching a season that makes this more pronounced. He has his teams peaking right in time for the maize and blue to come around, which is certainly a great strategy as a head coach at Ohio State.

I mean we've seen Ohio State start behind the curve in most recent seasons. Last year we had the struggle with Navy and then the loss to a USC team we saw later to be inferior, year before that was the struggle with OU and the massacre at SC, year before that we had some problems with Washington. 06 would appear to be the exception to this rule, then in 05 we had the ordeal with Texas. The key has been getting up to a good level by the Big Ten season and peaking in November. This approach certainly worked out for Tressel in the playoff format at YSU.

So yea the concern isn't so much the opponent but the time of the year the game is being played. I'd say Penn State will probably have a much better team this year then the Canes but the Miami game concerns me more for the aforementioned reasons. We need to come out of the gate swinging

I've always felt that when he was at YSU this was a trait of his teams - slow out of the gate, but firing on all cylinders near the end of the season. It didn't matter quite as much there because you could lose three games early in the season and still end up in the playoffs and win the NC (1991). His teams seemed to peak at the right time for that system - playoff time. In fact, he did have an undefeated season in one of his NC years (1994), but even then he tied his first game.

I just look forward to them being ready for Miami, then gaining that strength as the season progresses, ending the regular season with a crushing victory over scUM.

I fucking hate Miami.

I don't like Michigan, but I respect the rivalry and I enjoy talking to their fans at The Game.

I don't like Notre Dame, but I respect the tradition and I also enjoy talking football with their fans.

I fucking hate Miami and I fucking hate their fucking fans.

From what i hear from miami fans, ray ray armstrong would have started over sean taylor. Harris is the next jim kelly, and marcus forston is better than warren sapp. looks like we dont really stand a chance.:(

I have lived in Florida for 12 years and I know 1 Miami fan. One.

My buddy is a Miami fan and we have 500$ riding on this game. The original bet was made 3 years ago and it was only 5$. The "U" fans have had this circled for quite some time. For me its just going to be another butt whoopin.

I think it will be lopsided as far as a performance stand-point, not so much on the scoreboard. Buckeyes by 10-14. Miami has the athletes but don't have all the pieces in place yet. The Bucks will be primed for a big season returning a lot of the key pieces from last years squad. Hopefully the offense continues to show signs of improvement. The D will once again be dominant, w/ just a few different names like every year. And lets not forget, it is in THE SHOE. Enough said!!!

Go Bucks!!!!

I agree with those who point to the treatment of Northwestern over the past few years as an example of Tressel's penchant for laying the wood to the ass that needs it. This will be one of the two major ass-beatings for the year; the other one being the Boilermakers' and specifically Danny Hope's comeuppance.

This one has been stewing for some time though. The 'canes think THEY have the motivation for this one. HA! It is going to be Biblical.

Its true that Miami has the athletes, but they don't have an adequate Oline to keep Harris upright. He won't be getting the ball to too many players from his back. And not having Cooper, will be huge. He would at least make them a tad more formidable. If they have to win with Harris' arm, I wouldn't be scared at all. Our Dline will have him running for his life all game!!!
