I'm well aware of what you mean, as seen by my inclusion of ILL 07 & UM 06 (after mike reminded me).

There's zero question what my argument is about and what your rebuttal was addressing
Really, I was just making a random observation during the offseason, not trying to say OSU is screwed under the lights.

Gotcha, I think I missed those posts. Regardless, this game is going to be fun. Luckily for some of you old ass alumni, you should be able to get home from the game early enough to get to bed before 10. :roll1:

I am not really sure where you are going with this. Ohio State has had trouble under the lights because "old ass alumni" don't like night games?

I was at the '06 and '08 Games, and I guarantee you there wasn't a person under 30 who was louder than I was, and I'm 53 (and not even an alumnus). It might be wise to not lump a group of people together...

Hi everyone.
I am an avid Hurricanes fan. I can't wait for our game this year. Thankfully it is only two months away. I can see that the majority of you don't hold a very high opinion of our team or my fellow fans. I agree that we have our fair share of idiots, but I am quite sure that you have yours as well. As for our play on the field, I think you will be surprised.

I plan on coming up for the game. I have requested tickets from UM's ticket office, but as noted in an earlier post the university only received 2,500 tickets for the game. If I am lucky enough to receive the tickets from the university, which section will I be sitting in? I have no idea where the visiting fans usually sit. If I am unlucky, I will have to purchase tickets off of StubHub for ridiculous prices.

I admit that every year I say to myself that this will be the year, and over the past 6-7 years I couldn't have been more wrong. This year is no different. I can see us winning it all, if a few bounces go our way. In fact I see us wining in Columbus this year. You can call me crazy now......

Jacory Harris is a nice QB and played lights out for the first part of last year. Shannon as a coach scares me as much as RRod, which is to say not at all.

Fanatic you are right about Shannon. He hasn't proven that can be good head coach much less elite. The thing is though, in the world of college football players win football games more so than the head coach. I think we have enough talent and quality assistants to account for Shannon's shortcomings as a head coach. I think Jacory is going to have a huge year this year. I believe he will cut down on the ints, and play more within Whipple's system. He is after all a much better passer than Pryor.

welcome to the board. We love quality outsiders on this board and have had the pleasure of keeping a handful around as regulars afterwards. The Texas, LSU and OkSU pregame discussions were outstanding, the uf game had very few posters plus a few trolls, and the usc and miami threads have been barren wastelands. Glad to have someone to debate this game.

We welcome differing opinions, we just require that you back them up. Why do you feel they will win? What matchups or weaknesses do you think will contribute to that?

Early last year, there were many in buckeye nation singing praises about jacory while pryor struggled. Between the confidence in osu, the soft performance against wisconsin, and the general dislike between the teams, folks have not been as impresses with miami as maybe they should be.

Guest seating is in the ne corner, either in aa deck on the sideline rail or up in c deck, which is the upper deck. Ohio stadium runs north south. Aa deck is fun for seeing the band entrance, the visiting cheerleaders, and your team warming up (osu warms up on the south half), but is a low angle for watching the action. Many people prefer c deck for the angle of perspective.

Great, but do you have enough talent to not only overcome his shortcomings, but account for tOSU's talent and coaching on top of that? If so, are you saying that UM's talent is head and shoulders above tOSU?

Okay, but be mindful, Jacory 1 interception per 24 pass attempts as a freshman and got worst as a Soph throwing 1 per 28 attempts.
What makes you think that this is the year he improves

I am hoping that you buck the Miami trend and are an actual worthwhile poster and a knowledgeable fan, but after this statement of brilliance I am not holding out much hope.

Bring something to the table here and substantiate your claim. Are you going by stats alone? Are you ignoring the progress that TP made and actually got better as the year went along? Jacory did not.

Before we mention the dual threat that one of our QB's bring to the table that the other does not, afterall, Harris had one game in which he didn't have negative rushing yards.

You are making a few leaps of faith here, that I don't think many here will agree with.

Harris is a much more natural passer and was that way even before enrolling. He started off the year on fire. The question is did he hit a slump, did he plateau, did defenses catch up to him?

On the other hand, pryor had virtually no qb coaching and lacked basic fundamentals you find in middle school passers.

Harris is more polished but forces a lot more throws into traffic. Pryor on the other hand is still learning the basics of the position. However he is much more cautious with his throws.

Pryor had a few rough games last year but over the two seasons he has avoided interceptions pretty well. The consequence of this is he sometimes hesitates too long or misses opportunities.

A major difference however is the pressure each face. Pryor is blessed with a fairly strong line in front of him, while Harris suffers from a questionable line. Pryor also has much better strength and escapability in the pocket.

There is no question that two qbs have been streaky enough to produce any performance, but pryor will have the percentages on his side... In large part because osu can win whil asking him to manage the game. He is capable of more, but is supportes by a strong enough rushing game and defense that he will not have to take that many chances through the air.

tOSU = One of the best o-lines in the country, and likely the best in the conference this year.
Miami (FL) = Very young and inexperienced o-line, maybe middle of the pack in the conference.

This will be the biggest factor in the difference of the QB play. Our d-line is going to be on/after Harris all game long.

How about because we pounded a Wisconsin that dominated you far more than the scoreboard showed in their bowl win over you. Granted, common-opponent comparisons aren't always indicative of future outcomes, but if Wisconsin's defense can shut Miami down on a neutral field, our faster, stronger defense should be able to do even better at home. How often does Da U play in front of 105,000+ opposing fans? Let's see Harris keeps his composure after the first time he gets sacked and the crowd let's him have it...
