What are the chances that the 3:40 kickoff time keeps this game from reaching that level? The Texas, Penn State, USC games were all night games. Is there a drop off between night and day games?

At least we didn't get the noon slot.
michigan is always rocking, noon or afternoon.

Iowa was rocking at 3:30 last yr. An early game against a small ohio school can produce an average atmosphere, but this isnt baton rouge. It will be hopping and folks will be tailgating first thing in the morning.

You have some excellent seats. Aa is fun but hard to see the field. The only downside to your seats is facing the sun but the press box and early fall sun will help with that.

The only thing that changes is what time you better have your butt on campus for a prime tailgating spot. If you snooze, you lose. There will be eggs, bacon and beer in the lots by 6am at the latest.

I hope your trip gives you everything you ever wanted and more, minus a win.
In 2008 I went to the Penn State game, I think it was a 3 vs 10 matchup. I thought it wasn't possible to have more fun! USC 2009 was easily the loudest, most fun, and amazing atmosphere ever. I'm hoping this years Miami game is close to that level.

I don't know if the USC 2009 game eclipsed the 2002 Penn State game in terms of atmosphere.

For a frame of reference, the 2002 Penn State game was a 3:30 start time. And the crowd was AWESOME the entire game. And after Gamble's pick-six in the 2nd half, I couldn't hear a damn thing the rest of the game except for the crowd.

It might not be as quite as racous in Ohio Stadium as it was for those classic prime-time match-ups, but there will be plenty of enthusiasm none-the-less. It certainly will beat the atmosphere you experience at the majority of Hurricane home games.

I remember that pick six like it was yesterday. 13 years old and sitting smack dab in the middle of the Penn State section. One of my favorite games I've ever been to.

Oh, and Bazooka I'll be doing my part to help get the Shoe's atmosphere up to it's full potential on the 11th so enjoy your time here before, during and most likely NOT after the game. :)

I was 4 rows from the field by the flag pole.

Mike Tomczak was in the first row directly in front of me. He said that was the loudest game he'd ever heard.

That had to make it even more exciting! We must have been sitting pretty close to each other because the visitors section I was in was the one down by the flag pole. :wink2:

I got my tickets for that game from a friend who has since passed on.
