...also @ Mili we did not "smoke" Wisconsin by any means. Our D bailed us out that game.
The defense scored two TDs, if memory serves, on pick sixes. I think there was a punt return for TD too, but not certain of that. In any case, the 2 pick sixes are a very big part of the reason why OSU's offensive production was so low. That's not a "bail out" by the way.

Fair enough.

Perhaps I could have rephrased to "our defense scored nearly half of our points". On no account would I ever refer to a game we only lead 14-10 at the half and only scored 2 offensive touchdowns overall as "smoking" anyone. For a true "smoking", one could refer to THIS asswhooping.

Yea, two pick sixes and Small returned a punt all the way. I recall that Small was having solid returns fairly consistently in that game.

Ray Small's TD was actually on a kickoff return, rather than a punt.

Which makes me wonder what your perception of Shannon is. To me, he's much like the Zooker in that he can recruit, but does little with the talent.

I'm leaning the other way. Shannon seems like a good enough coach but his recruiting's been so-so, given the talent in his backyard. The 2008 class was good but overhyped, at least to this point. His classes since haven't wowed. Still too early to get a true read on how well he'll do.

The tickets are in Level A, on the Canes sideline, and I bought them off of Ebay. I paid a premium for sure. The way I look at it, if going to make the trip anyways why not have great seats.

I have always wanted to attend a game at the shoe. Watching games like Michigan and Penn State I have always thought how great it would be to be in that atmosphere.

So what better opportunity then watch my Canes in the shoe.

Gator I will be sure to grab a burrito for you this week. It doesn't get much better than Burrito Brothers. :)

I hope your trip gives you everything you ever wanted and more, minus a win.
In 2008 I went to the Penn State game, I think it was a 3 vs 10 matchup. I thought it wasn't possible to have more fun! USC 2009 was easily the loudest, most fun, and amazing atmosphere ever. I'm hoping this years Miami game is close to that level.

What are the chances that the 3:40 kickoff time keeps this game from reaching that level? The Texas, Penn State, USC games were all night games. Is there a drop off between night and day games?

At least we didn't get the noon slot.
