Didn't Cocker win a Title? Damn him.
With Butch's team. Look at all those draft picks weve had the last 3-4 years. Shannon took over this team with zero talent. His first recruiting class are seniors now and you'll see players like Hankerson, Bailey, Cooper, DVD, and Franklin go high in next years draft. Coker was a lazy recruiter who basically recruited off websites. I mean Kyle Wright, Lance Legget, Tyler McMeans, Reggie Youngblood, and Willie Williams were all 5 star prospects who came in and didn't put in the work and thought they signed with the U it got them a free pass to the NFL.

Look at our 04-05 classes and they're top 5 classes but where are they now.

Which makes me wonder what your perception of Shannon is. To me, he's much like the Zooker in that he can recruit, but does little with the talent.

In Randy Shannon's defense, he took over the program in probably its lowest point in some time. With the fight and all that shit, they were in a low spot. This is going to be a big year for him.
Miami had a pretty good year last year. Talent wise, they stack up with just about anyone in the country at the skill positions. It will be interesting to see their line play, because they could end up being VERY good this year if their O line play is solid. I think this Miami team is dangerous .

Waxed 31-7 by VT
Beat a 5-7 Wake Forest team by one fucking point
Lost to an 8-5 UNC team
Lost at home to an 8-5 (regular season) Clemson team
Down 16-14 to Duke, at home, entering the 4th qtr (attendance 38,200 :slappy:)
Totally shut down in their bowl loss to a slow, plodding Big Ten team (who we smoked in the regular season)

They may have gone 9-4, but I'm not so sure you could call it a "pretty good" year...

Nice. And your team almost lost it's opener to Navy. Then got beat by a freshman QB at home to a 9-4 USC team. And what about that lost to that Purdue team that went hack hack 5-7.

Just sayin...

the difference being that the shit you point out ended in week 7 before we went on to beat Penn State and Oregon in convincing fashion... meaning that we started off a little rocking but showed drastic improvement down the stretch, including a great bowl win

half the shitty things that happened to your team were in the second half of the season meaning that your team basically crumbled down the stretch... including a collapse in your bowl game

just saying

also, the Navy team that we barely beat in week 1 was a 10 win squad last year, how many games did the Wake Forrest team that you beat by 1 point in the middle of the season win last year?

ALMOST is your key word there. Almost means absolutely nothing when you succeed. I wish we had something to show for these abysmal seasons... Oh yeah. Reigning Big Ten Champions since 2005. How many ACC titles has Miami won since moving from the Big Least to the ACC? NONE

That triple option that Navy runs is something else. It's fun to watch too. Yeah we did crumble down the stretch and i hope our team learns and grows from it. Having alot of injuries didn't help. Especially not having our LT for the whiskey game. This year is the first year we're not relying on freshman and sophs to be the leaders. This year will define alot if Shannon is the right coach for us.

A Navy team that would've ape-fucked Duke...and at least we never trailed them at any time in the game like you did with Duke, let alone into the fourth fucking quarter. We also beat the shit out of USC's highly-touted OL so badly they were never the same the rest of the season. We shit the bed once all year, at Purdue. Remember that Wisconsin team that handed you your collective asses in your bowl game? We pounded them by 18.

...also @ Mili we did not "smoke" Wisconsin by any means. Our D bailed us out that game.

Scoreboard says otherwise...they had the ball three times for over 12 minutes in the third quarter before we even had our first possession of the second half and they couldn't do shit.

That was a really weird game. Our D actually did look vulnerable at times, but came up with several big turnovers. But more remarkably, our special teams actually stepped up. Remember when Tressel Ball entailed excellent special teams?
