Ok, and they still weren't very good.
I'd say Tressel laid a huge egg vs USC that night...more so than the team did. He played textbook "Tresselball" and it bit him in the butt. The OSU players man to man played their hearts out. It was Texas 2005 all over again.

You are sounding like Miami-homer boy over here. Ohio State was not a great team at the beginning of last season, just like Miami was not a great team at the end of last season. But things change over time, believe it or not. Hmmm...what did I say to sound like a homer ? OSU manhandled USC for 90% of the game...significantly too. If you refuse to see that then you have an agenda.

It's annoying to see our fans downgrade Miami, I assume seriously. If we defeat them, it only cheapens the victory. You must be talking in generality...seriously. I haven't said one thing about the Canes. BUt since you bring it up....our fans sound a lot like we did before the 1999 game with them. We thought then that OSU would actually out-athlete a down Miami program. Well, we found out. Miami was stockpiled with future NFL stars and just needed the right coach to bring them along. Today, however, they don't have a Butch Davis.

Their defense is very talented, and they will be motivated to a frenzy by Shannon. While Miami-homer boy is asking for a sharp rebuttal, I hope that we can rise above it and view the opponent with some form of objectivity.
Sure. This is my first response in the thread at all. I think it will come down to a late game possession

I know the game was in Orlando sepia I was there. I was being sarcastic/humorous.

Sarcasm? Humor? I think you'll find that we have very little tolerance for such silliness around here. No joke. Govern yourself accordingly.

someone should perform an experiment on our internet community's ability to handle and react to sarcasm and humor, I wonder how BuckeyePlanet would do?

I think that Miami's DL will be on the same level as UNC's and tOSU's DLs. I also don't think that the 105,000 screaming fans will affect Jacory's confidence one bit.

The team that tOSU will face on 9/11 will be a far cry from the team that Wisconsin faced in December.

Don't you know that we can't play in the cold or rain...:)

Tee it up as sarcasm if you like...but it's a pretty accurate statemnt. Game was in Orlando and Miami had heaters on the sideline. Players were huddled underneath them like it was Lambeau field. Pretty comical stuff...

About the only thing I remember from that game.

According to previously performed experiments, I think we passed with flying colors as the nicest sweetest most welcoming message board community on the internet.

At least, that's what I took away from it...

Cold...rain...ok. However, that team quit. That is a red flag. Better hope those same boys get off to a fast start...they get down by 14, they will quit again.
Bah....that wasn't quitting.

Letting yourself get beat 48 to 0 in your last game in the Orange Bowl with the sidelines filled with coCane alumni, well - that is quitting! :p

Yes, in Madison, where it was 13 degrees...

not in Orlando, where the weather got down to the low 50s / high 40s.

I'd hate to see what Miami would do if it was actually freezing during a game, let alone snowing.

1. one fumble, two int.
2. two int.
3. 2.5; more importantly Pryor will be sacked 5 times
4. 3.9
5. 4.3

Jacory will be hit while trying to throw which will result in an interception, and he will probably force one as well. Pryor will force a few passes, which will result in two interceptions. Pryor will put one on the ground while being hit in the pocket. This will be the result of him trying to make something happen. Jacory is more apt to just go down.

Pryor will be sacked five times which will bring down his yards per carry. He will have one carry for at least 15-20 yards though. Jacory will be sacked three times.

I see Miami forcing Pryor to beat them with his arm, and therefore they will load the box. I see Ray Ray going down to play in the box quite often. On the other hand, I think Jacory will keep the tOSU defense honest. Thus the Miami RB's having slightly more yards per carry. tOSU backs will have more carry's though, resulting in more total yards.

jwinslow I am sure you will see things going down much differently.

It's just flat out ignorance to think Mia will dominate the strengths of tOSU. Pass the kool-aid.

IMO the Mia passing game (the short passing game in particular) should have reasonable success but to think Mia will push around the OSU front seven is not just homerism, it's flat out stupidity.

Pryor may very well get sacked 4+ times but to dismiss his ability to run the ball and think Mia will just simply "load the box and force him to beat them with his arm" sounds exactly like the pre Rose Bowl BS I heard from ESPN and Oregon fans. That worked well for the ducks...not so much.

Mia won't be blown out by any means but your earlier prediction is blind faith horseshit.
