Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

1. one fumble, two int.
2. two int.
3. 2.5; more importantly Pryor will be sacked 5 times
4. 3.9
5. 4.3

Jacory will be hit while trying to throw which will result in an interception, and he will probably force one as well. Pryor will force a few passes, which will result in two interceptions. Pryor will put one on the ground while being hit in the pocket. This will be the result of him trying to make something happen. Jacory is more apt to just go down.

Pryor will be sacked five times which will bring down his yards per carry. He will have one carry for at least 15-20 yards though. Jacory will be sacked three times.

I see Miami forcing Pryor to beat them with his arm, and therefore they will load the box. I see Ray Ray going down to play in the box quite often. On the other hand, I think Jacory will keep the tOSU defense honest. Thus the Miami RB's having slightly more yards per carry. tOSU backs will have more carry's though, resulting in more total yards.

jwinslow I am sure you will see things going down much differently.

So you see an elusive athlete being sacked 5 times behind a veteran OL facing an average to slightly above average DL...and a pocket passer behind an inexperienced OL facing possibly the best DL in the nation being sacked 3 times?

Pass the Kool-Aid.

Jacory will also be a junior this year, and I am betting that he has learned from his mistakes of last year. Another off season in the film room can't hurt. Not to mention that this will be year two under Whipple..

I think that Miami's DL will be on the same level as UNC's and tOSU's DLs. I also don't think that the 105,000 screaming fans will affect Jacory's confidence one bit.

The team that tOSU will face on 9/11 will be a far cry from the team that Wisconsin faced in December.

Don't you know that we can't play in the cold or rain...:)

Blind faith. I can respect that.

Cold...rain...ok. However, that team quit. That is a red flag. Better hope those same boys get off to a fast start...they get down by 14, they will quit again.

USC was a middle of the road Pac 10 team.

Miami is better.

when OHio State faced USC, they were a very good team. Make no mistake, Taylor Mays was never the same after the OSU game and Stafon Johnson got hurt the next week or two with the weightlifting incident. Big losses for USC. OHio State faced the best USC team there was last year.

Also....USC plays its best in big OOC matchups. I thought we settled that before the Rose Bowl with the Duck fans.

I know the game was in Orlando sepia I was there. I was being sarcastic/humorous.

Miami was very inconsistent last year. The Wisconsin game was very similar to the Wake Forrest game. It took Riley Skinner going down and a very fortunate drive by the Canes to win that game.

I just believe that the Canes under achieved last year due to youth, and that they will have a breakout year this year. With that youth growing up.

Eh, I'll give 87Cane some credit, he's certainly more civilized/mature than most of his brethren (who are major cretins by and large). It's good to have some confidence in your team. That said, he sounds an awful lot like so many Oregon fans that migrated over here before the Rose Bowl.

And how's that? Spring and summer camps and your opener at home against I-AA Florida A&M () is going to magically improve the team that much?

Ok, and they still weren't very good.

You are sounding like Miami-homer boy over here. Ohio State was not a great team at the beginning of last season, just like Miami was not a great team at the end of last season. But things change over time, believe it or not.

It's annoying to see our fans downgrade Miami, I assume seriously. If we defeat them, it only cheapens the victory.

Their defense is very talented, and they will be motivated to a frenzy by Shannon. While Miami-homer boy is asking for a sharp rebuttal, I hope that we can rise above it and view the opponent with some form of objectivity.

The Canes are a very serious threat this year...but if you didn't expect a backlash when a visiting fan predicts scoring 30+, sacking Pryor 5 times, and essentially dominating a game, you haven't been paying attention around here. There hasn't even been any trashtalk...homertalk, but not trash

This discussion has been timid, at best, compared to the old Grassy/Scout conversations of 8 years ago.
