first link is to a way better version, the 2nd link has very poor audio, but James says at the beginning that it is new... so just incase anyone doubts that it's not real but a cover or something, he says it is brand new... they also say it has no title, but given that one lyric repeats over and over i am sure it'll be called "Death is Not the End"

I wish they didn't try to be such "new age metal". Their last album was a complete wreck because they were trying to be too hardcore. Hopefully they bring back the guitar solos, leave the trashcan drums and overused double bass drums behind.

Yeah, their last album was painful to listen to. Whoever gave Lars the idea to play the drums like that needs shot. Trashcan drums is right. BLAH!! This is the greatest Metal band ever and one of the greatest Rock bands of all time as well. Stick to what got you there. Go back to the sound pre-Black Album. Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Kill 'Em All, those were the best. Justice and the Black Album were good, and I actually like a few songs from the later stuff, and the only song I can listen to from St. Anger is the remade Some Kind of Monster.

I'd have to say I was pretty disappointed with their last performance at the Schott.

Someone needs to get Lars Ulrich's fat ass into shape and hook him up with some Propecia.

The band isn't the same without Newsted either.....

Agree, but lets hope this next album is far much better.
They all have huge egos besides the new bassisit. Metallicas live set is kick ass.

I still believe that Hetfield getting blown up by the pyros has something to do with why they changed so much. I think his injuries effected his playing ability. I have no way to prove it and have never heard them say it, but as a guitar player myself, having your skin melted off can't be good...

That song is horrible...they sound like the next garage band attempting metal. I've heard better things coming from Bernie's Distillery.

They need to stop the dropped tuning (which btw makes picking the guitar infinitely easier) and go back to classic speed metal E-E.

Metallica used to be my favorite band until they started writing this kind of garbage about 10 years ago...must be why Lars uses the cans for drums

I dont really like new song #1, new song #2 has potential.
However I wouldnt say either is "horrible"

The downtuning needs to stop, it sounds like ass.
But I dont think it makes picking any easier?

What does everyone think of their Ecstasy of Gold cover?
I absolutely love it.
I will try to find a link to download if anyone wants it...
