Ohio State among teams to host NIT Season Tip-Off

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]NEW YORK -- Ohio State, which was ranked No. 1 entering the NCAA Tournament and went on to lose to Florida in the title game, will be one of the four early round hosts for the NIT Season Tip-Off. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Syracuse, Washington and Texas A&M will be the other first- and second-round sites for the 16-team tournament, it was announced Thursday. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Ohio State, which has to replace freshmen Greg Oden, Mike Conley and Daequan Cook, who were all first-round NBA Draft picks, will play Wisconsin-Green Bay on Nov. 12, with Columbia playing Delaware State in the other game. The second round will be Nov. 13. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Also on Nov. 12-13 at Syracuse, Siena will face the host school while Saint Joseph's faces Fairleigh Dickinson. [/FONT]

Buckeyes host team for NIT Tip-Off

Ohio State will open its 2007-08 men's basketball season Nov. 12 in Value City Arena against Wisconsin-Green Bay in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off, tournament officials announced yesterday.
The Buckeyes will play Columbia or Delaware State the next night, and the winner of the four-team Midwest Regional will advance to the tournament semifinals Nov. 21 in Madison Square Garden in New York. The championship and consolation games are Nov. 23.
Syracuse, Texas A&M and Washington will be the other regional hosts.

Men's Basketball: The University of Florida has released its basketball schedule and according to Gatorzone.com, the Gators will be in Columbus on December 22 for a 3:45 game with the Buckeyes. The game will be televised by CBS.​

Call me a pessimist, but I have no desire to face Florida again--its a lose-lose situation.

If we win, we are reminded that we didn't win the important game(s), and if we lose... well we just lost to Florida again.

On the bright side, the atmosphere for that game should be pretty intense.
