Just a few quick notes.....
It's sort of amazing that Maryland was able to score 16 points given that the Buckeye defense held the Terps to 146 yards of total offense on 53 plays (average of 2.75 yards per play); 12 of 25 passing (.480); 3 of 13 (.231) on third and fourth down conversions; and forced seven punts. Maryland scored a field goal on a short-field after a fumble recovery and a touchdown on a pick six; their only legit scoring drive was 11-plays, 75-yards for a touchdown that was assisted by four Buckeye penalties for 30 yards, including a crucial roughing the passer flag after a third down incompletion.
On the other hand, it's sort of amazing that the Buckeyes were able to score 45 points given that the offense had a pair of turnovers and a16-play, 72-yard touchdown drive that ate up ten minutes of clock (that's 17% of the game on one drive); and Jeremiah Smith had only four receptions for 93 yards (but two touchdowns, 33 yards and 40 yards). Lead tailbacks Bo Jackson and Ja'Kobi Jackson had 37 carries for 178 yards (4.8 average) and two touchdowns (both by Bo) behind a patchwork offensive line.
If the Buckeyes were fully healthy and brought their A game, the final score would've probably been more like 59-0.
