Maryland at tOSU, Oct 9th, Noon ET on FOX

I love to boat race teams into oblivion, but I'm wondering if a hard fought first half wouldn't be more beneficial to the team. Got a bye week after this so maybe a battle would be better to keep their focus going. W is the main thing so if they die, they die.

fuck that

boat race away

I think this is the perfect test for the defense and getting a true gauge on improvement from a schematic execution perspective.
Agreed. Maryland is smart enough to find a weakness the way Oregon and Tulsa did, and hammer it until we fix it....if we can fix it. Schiano for some reason was too busy dialing up trick nonsense and throwing quick passes to WRs on the edge.

Outcome was obvious to anyone that saw the hyperextension live. It was brutal.

MARYLAND WIDE RECEIVER DONTAY DEMUS JR. RULED OUT FOR THE SEASON FOLLOWING KNEE SURGERY
By 11W Staff on October 5, 2021 at 1:16 pm

Maryland star wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr. was ruled out for the season following surgery on his left knee, Terps coach Mike Locksley revealed at his Tuesday press conference.

Demus injured his knee on a second-quarter kickoff return against No. 3 Iowa Friday night, in a game the Terrapins would go on to lose to the Hawkeyes, 51-14. At the time, Demus was leading the game with 61 receiving yards but would leave the field on a cart, promising he'd be back.

Terrible for that kid and for Maryland... I know they have Jarrett but he's not a problem like Demus was.

Side note, I know it's been only 2 games of improvement but anyone else sort of put off by some in our media thinking Maryland only did poorly because they played Iowa? Saying that they'll return to business vs OSU because we aren't Iowa. Rubs me the wrong way... so then what if the defense shuts them down? Will it just be "oh well they didn't have Demus and came off an ugly game"?

Didn't realize Iowa was the 80s Bears...

I hope we aren't Iowa, I sure hope we're much better.

And the Bears didn't finish undefeated either...

I wouldn't go that far... they have good coaching and a bend but don't break system. I would NOT trade their players for ours though.
As long as the Buckeyes take care of business in the loaded East division, and continue their (to me astonishing) defensive improvements we should see a real-life test of ours vs Iowa in the B1G championship game.
