Game Thread Marshall vs tOSU, Thursday Sep 2, 7:30 pm ET, BTN

I grew up basically within 20 miles of the Marshall campus. I was a first grader when the plane crash occured. Will never forget it. It was devastating to the whole tri-state area. For that reason, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the Thundering Herd... and always will.

Nice perspective! I'm assuming you were born way after 1970.

The Bucks need to not just win, but be impressive. So while I may have a soft spot for Marshall, I am hoping they see the best the Buckeyes have to offer a week from Thursday.

Why do the Bucks need to be impressive? They are #2 right now with a good SOS. They play Miami early to set the stage and finish with a bitchin November. I don't think any style points are needed to reach the big dance, just win baby.

In all seriousness, the plane crash is not a joking matter and I wouldn't wish that pain on any community.

But as someone that has had endless dealings with the Marshall fanbase over the last 15 years or so....

My balls are getting dry. I may need to make a trip to Huntington this week.

Tlangs you are right. No one with a conscience is happy about the plane crash. But its been a long time and there are plenty of people with Marshall grudges. I mean JT had that rivalry with them at YSU, Coach Johnson lost his cool after Miami got dicked on a no call. So therefore I second that big fuck Marshall.

Maybe I'm not that good of a person or anything... but true story: Last week my company hosted a private box at a Cubs game for one of our larger clients. On the way home back to the burbs, me and two of the other three owners of the company pile into the company president's minivan... along with four other employees. There is a running (not so much of a) joke about how bad of a driver the president is. As the last door shuts I, kind of under my breath, mutter "We are Marshall" so that only one or two people hear me. Suffice it to say, they heard... laughed and the rest of the folks on board were filled in on the significance of said comment.

Agreed. I was in the Horseshoe for the 2004 game. Impressive? The Bucks were anything but.............thank God for Nugent.

If they're not impressive (i.e. winning by at least 3 touchdowns), the No. 2 ranking will quickly become a thing of the past.

I'm just sayin'.
