Game Thread Marshall vs tOSU, Thursday Sep 2, 7:30 pm ET, BTN

Sitting in 9C last night, I didn't get that good of a look at what broke down on the blocked FG. I was a bit disappointed to see that it was J. Boren and McQuaide - though that gives me some hope that it'll be fixed.

Very fun game to watch. O was very very good. D was so-so by tOSU standards. Not a whole lot of pass rush but I know a lot of that was due to Marshall's quick passing game. Secondary also needs to get better. That's mostly nitpicking. I think our O is going to be at a near '06-level and our D should be a lot better than '06. Looks like it's going to be a great year.

What was going on with the back-up LB's? Was Tony Jackson in before the other big names(Bell, Sabino, Klein, etc)?

Storm is a little banged up and didn't play last night. Bell may have suffered a concussion early in the game because he didn't come out onto the field, and tress mentioned he was "dinged" after the game. Whiting has been competing with Jackson.

OK, not that anyone's looking for stellar reporting from Charissa Thompson (or anyone at BTN for that matter), but I was still disappointed to hear her characterize Tyler Moeller's injury as having stemmed from "getting into an altercation with a fellow customer". I'm disappointed by the ambiguity in that statement. He was attacked. The attacker has even plead guilty. There's no need to let viewers fill in the blanks of what happened by stating it that way. The facts of the incident have been established and are not disputed by the attacker, but people who don't know better or want to see the worst in a kid like Moeller may end up thinking otherwise.

Just got home from the trip to Columbus. I'll probably post stuff that has been covered. My apologies. Not going to read through the entire game thread.

Pryor's mechanics look worlds different to me from what I saw a few months ago in the spring game. In warmups he had a great over the top delivery with a lot of zip on the ball and it carried over into a game setting. His pocket presence seems light years ahead of where he was a year ago at this time. There was only one really bad throw (as in ill-advised) and one that was thrown into the dirt and one overthrow on a swing pass. 17-25 could have easily been 19-25 if not for a couple of drops.

The offensive line was getting push on runs and protecting well for the most part on pass plays.

Tyler Moeller was outstanding. He tracked down the Marshall running back on a couple of plays when it appeared that the running back was going to get to the corner.

Special teams still isn't so special. I hope it can get sorted out in time for next week.

I can't wait to get back into my car next Friday afternoon and make the drive back up to Columbus.
