For those curious why I keep bringing up NIL when it comes to Okunla
Pretty much, unless they can show a great, and I mean GREAT NIL package that can compete with the upfront money he’s being offered.
So I guess I haven't followed how OSU handles the NIL deal all that closely, but I surmise the coaches will not guarantee any deals? If so, I would still imagine they would showcase the NIL deals our players get and who they got the deal from as a nudge-nudge of where you could get a good NIL deal? Or maybe the players with the deals show them the ropes? I mean, it is no secret a bunch of our players have what appear to be lucrative deals, no point in masking it now that it is legal, although I do appreciate that the coaches are not guaranteeing it up front (or at least that appears the case).
In any event, I guess get Samson on campus and see what happens. If the coaches' approach is to not guarantee NIL money upfront, no reason to change that for one recruit unless they are going to do it for all/most of them even if is is tempting given Samson's talent and the perceived need at OT. Throw the kitchen sink at landing him without sacrificing standards. May not be a popular opinion but that is my take.
