Think 1970s Channingway Apartments maintenance man Billy Milligan. Is BKB "the Teacher"?

I can't be the only one.

I was always under the impression that he was "speculated" to be the lead candidate, but he publicly stated he wasn't leaving Arkansas as soon as Hayes was fired so he didn't want the job, for the reasons that people mentioned...he wanted to be the guy who followed the guy.
Obscure? Billy Milligan is known around the world as the first person diagnosed with multiple personalities. I had the chance to work with him a few days at Channingway. He was very quiet and unassuming. He helped set up some model apartments for a shoot. I would never have guessed that he would hit the news in that way.And they said Elton John was an obscure reference.
My understanding is that the problem came about when they fired Fred Taylor and found out how far below what other schools were paying HCs OSU was.He was the lead candidate, given that he was on Woody's coaching staff in 1968, and his solid winning record. One of the big problems was money. Woody's highest salary ever at OSU was $43K (he would turn down raises but insist on them for his staff). OSU got used to paying that kind of money to a head coach, and I think offered it to Holtz, whose salary had just been raised to about $70K by Arkansas! (Take a good look at those figures......wow, have times changed). I think he was quoted as saying "Sorry, fellas, but I can't afford the pay cut!"
When they interviewed Earle Bruce, they discovered that his salary at Iowa State was very similar to Holtz's @ AK. Bruce accepted the job on the condition that OSU match it. They realized that they had no choice, and did. Great move, although Holtz would have been perfect, too.
For those of you that are interested, this has been written about in several Woody bios, and I think in Lou Holtz's autobiography, "Wins, Losses and Lessons," which is, for my dough, a fantastic read. I personally think he's one of the good guys.
Look, I've been gracious about it, but you're being obtuse. Those that know the guy know him to be good but you make bull[Mark May] statements about his being a whore which clearly is assailing the guys character - all over a fucking ENTERTAINMENT program. This is the kinda [Mark May] that folks point to when they say message boards are full of bull[Mark May] and venom.

Only two notorious folks in the media picked tOSU... Holtz and Robert Smith
