Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

I don't think any program and its fanbase has any feeling for their process. Its all so new. I wouldn't be surprised if scUM fans had no clue who he even was.
OSU is most likely going to end up with some kids we've hardly ever even heard of, from schools who go to 3rd tier bowl games at best. Info will be flying fast, and the worst strategy will be fans wanting certain players based off of their HS rankings(i.e. Cypress vs Grimes at CB)

I'd be looking for guy who more fit the mold of a grad transfer than a highly rated HS kid who transferred after just a year or two.

Grad transfers have been there done that in college, you know what you have on the tape and they are only a 1-2 year roster impact. You aren't having to plan around them in recruiting that much.

Ultimately you probably take BPA depending on need and team chemistry fit but given a choice the Grad route would be my strategy of choice (given what we know right now).

So…did universities make college credits universally transferrable??

I am all for the players having a free market but a lot of these kids are gonna miss out on a degree after all the musical chairs. Like JT Daniels 4-5 schools in 4 years? Hope the pursuit of playing time and short term income is being weighed against future endeveavors.

Madhouse right now. It’s gonna take a half generation to sort out the good and bad.

Speaking of a madhouse, think about what this is like for mid to lower level/project/late bloomer type high school kids. They're fighting for roster spots now with college transfers.

Three fucking weeks before signing day.

Brutal.

Sign me up for all the chaos. Love all of it.

I'm fine with all of it except where it hurts the kids. No way this big window opening is good for most HS recruits this close to signing day.

I know from baseball recruiting that these coaches are ruthless. If they can get a better player to fill your spot they will do so right up to the last day.
