Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Early read is potentially Auburn with Huge Freeze. He could certainly end up at Liberty but Jaime Chadwell’s system is extremely gimmicky and I think it’d benefit him to showcase his talents in a more pro-style system.

To other posters saying we have enough talent in QB room….maybe, maybe not. McCord looked pretty average IMO…certainly a small sample size. I like Devin Brown’s mobility but he will be a redshirt Freshman next year.

Fields worked out well as a transfer. I think it’d be negligent to ignore any players in portal based on where this program is currently suffering…..pissing some kids off might actually be a good thing….

I don’t think anything should be off the table at this point.

We are also likely to see a change in Day's focus from the long term stability of his locker room to win right goddamn now depending on how this CFP appearance goes.

If they think they can start here the coaches have an obligation to put the best players on the field. Whether that's a portal QB or recruiting a kid as a senior.

I hope we are never big time movers in the portal but there's no reason why we can't add 1-3 kids to address weak points.

Go get the two best OL and the best corner for example.

Do you think the existence of the portal makes "win right goddamn now" a more realistic objective for most programs than long term stability? It seems like the better players are going to want playing time, and if they aren't getting it at one place, they are going to enter the portal.

We should just look at it like Free agency in pro sports. The best teams will use the portal/FA to fill holes(OSU, UGA), and the teams who aren't very good will rely solely on its presence(Miami and Tenn). And then some teams will use the uniqueness of CFB, to recruit like crazy and also use the NIL, and find the best mix(Bama).

My point was more about Days focus from long term to short term if he does poorly in the CFP.

So many kids transferring for their 2nd time too. Shouldn't they have to sit out a year?

Lol 2nd.. Have you seen a person named JT Daniels
Yeah. It's stupid, man. Just hop from school to school year to year. I mean, in all honesty, I see how it's good for the kids, but it's just another thing that's eroding my esteem for CFB.

I think you're seeing the high transfer numbers from QBs primarily because only 1 can actually get primary PT at a time. We'll continue to see QBs continually transfer until they reach a school where they can be the main starter. But what you notice is, that they tranfer to a lesser school each time. QBs are rarely going from a top P5 to another one. It's usually a top P5, to a middling one to a lesser P5/FCS school
