i think i have bigger issue with the timing of this window and early signing day than i do with transfers in general

to me, the season isn't over until the last bowl is played.
why the hell are players allowed to leave while season is still happening?
why is early signing day slap in middle of bowl season?

Add transfers to opt outs and the non playoff bowl games become even more of a clown show.

The extra month of practice is nice for the participating teams, but the games, woof.

It will take studies and stories like this over the next few years to settle the market.

Until then, there’s going to be a lot of wide-eyed kids going for a short term relief/opportunity.

Good luck betting on them, too. The game comes on the air and you learn some guys opted out and it wasn't reported ahead of time.

yeah, betting College Bowl Games is a crap shoot these days. who plays, who doesn't? Who wants to be there, who doesn't? Never know what team is actually going to show up. I hope we see the "angry, Us Against The World" Buckeyes in The Peach Bowl.

31% drop from the lowest year in the last 10 years.

Pretty stark and all of a sudden like but there it is. I was against the idea of a restricted portal window to start with. Having the first one, essentially, coincide with the early signing period is one of the more breathtakingly dumbass things I've seen done in a while.

But hey, coaches need to be able to control this stuff...I mean for the good of the players. Am I right?
