Long-missing Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight have been found alive.

The more negative press the huckster gets out of this the better AFAIAC. Hopefully it'll prevent a few people from giving her money.

Psychic Who Said Amanda Berry Was Dead Silent After Berry Is Found Alive

A year after Amanda Berry disappeared in Cleveland, her mother appeared on "The Montel Williams Show" to speak to a psychic about what happened to her daughter.

Psychic Sylvia Browne, who has made a career of televised psychic readings, told Louwanna Miller on a 2004 episode of the show that her daughter was dead, causing Miller to break down in tears on the show's set.

"She's not alive, honey," Browne told Miller on the show, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper. "Your daughter's not the kind who wouldn't call."

Miller told the newspaper that she believed "98 percent" in what Browne told her. Miller died a year later from heart failure.

On Monday, Berry was found alive after she broke free from a home in Cleveland where she says she has been kept for the past decade.

Browne did not return phone calls seeking comment today by ABC News. The Montel Williams show, through syndicator CBS, also did not return calls for comment. The show no longer airs new episodes.

Psychic Sylvia Browne called evil, fraud on social media sites for predicting that Amanda Berry was dead
Nationally known psychic Sylvia Browne has been taking a beating on the web for her prediction almost nine years ago that Amanda Berry was dead. Browne appeared on an episode of the Montel Williams show in November 2004. She told Louwana Miller, who also appeared on the show and was Berry's mother, that her daughter was dead.

iller, who at one point never stopped declaring that Berry was alive, later told a Plain Dealer reporter that she believed Browne "98 percent."

Miller died in 2006 of heart failure. She was 44.

Browne remains silent on her Facebook page despite nearly 700 comments she has received since Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were found alive Monday. Her Twitter page has not been touched since Monday.

"Hey Sylvia, Amanda Berry is alive. Think of the torment you put her mother through when you told the poor woman her daughter was dead," Michael Martin posted on Browne's Facebook page. "Then the mother herself died before she could learn the truth. You are evil, evil, evil and ought to be ashamed of yourself."

Amanda Berry's mother, Louwana Miller, fought to the end

Every few months she called.

She always wanted the impossible: Find Mandy.

She wanted me to do more. Write another story. Call the FBI. Get the TV cameras rolling.

"Please, honey," she begged.

She always called me honey, though she was younger than I.

I never met anyone like Louwana Miller, whose daughter Amanda Berry vanished after her shift at Burger King on April 21, 2003. She had told her sister on a cell phone, "I've got a ride. I'll call you back." Then she vanished between Burger King and her home a few blocks away on West 111th.

Louwana lived in the upstairs of an old house. When I knocked from the porch, she hollered for me to come up.

"Shut the damn door," she barked.

She wasn't crying. She didn't act the way moms of missing children do on TV, delicately wiping tears with folded tissues while whispering pleas for help.

Louwana was angry. She chain-smoked Marlboros. She didn't trust the police, so she put her own phone number on the fliers.

She would cuss out the very people who tried to help her, then she would apologize and sob like a baby, tears rolling down her big, puffy cheeks.

Charles is at it again. On Anderson Cooper, he was asked if he wanted a reward. He whipped out his actual paycheck and said "I get a paycheck, give the reward to them girls THEY SAVED".

Might be the baddest man alive.

Agreed. Not a surprise Browne is silent, what also won't be a surprise is that unfortunately desperate people will still pay her for her complete and utter bullshit...cha-ching.

Holy crap. One of the suspects was a school bus driver. Suspended last year and later fired. Suspend for leaving a kid on a bus, making a u turn in rush hour traffic with a bus full of kids, and the best one of them all, using the school bus to go grocery shopping

While I'm not a fan of reality shows in general I would sit and watch one with Charles Ramsey, Uncle Ruslan & Kai hanging out, drinking beer & discussing the world.

It's hilarious watching various media types trying to fit this story to fit their personal agendas. I was listening to an NRP piece discussing how Ramsey's comments were a reflection on the state of race relations in this country and read another trying to state how it was a commentary on domestic violence. Other have used it as a platform to attack the Cleveland PD.

Tomorrow's ESPN headline - "Ariel Castro, did Jim Tressel know?".

Aaaand here's Slate's Aisha Harris with a race-sensitive take on the Charles Ramsey memes:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat...erry_rescuer_becomes_internet_meme_video.html

Ramsey's heroism is quickly being overshadowed by the public's desire to laugh at and autotune his story, and that?s a shame.Ramsey has become the latest in a fairly recent trend of "hilarious" black neighbors, unwitting Internet celebrities whose appeal seems rooted in a "colorful" style that is always immediately recognizable as poor or working-class.
...
Those who are simply having fun with the footage of Ramsey might pause for a second to actually listen to the man. He clearly knows a thing or two about the way racism prevents us from seeing each other as people.

Aisha tends to bring down the fun of the Brow Beat culture column pretty regularly.

As far as the Cleveland PD goes, they have had a string of really bad (and mostly deserved) pub recently, so that doesn't surprise me. As for trying to make it about something bigger, well, that's what the media does, unfortunately.
