London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

Handball has been my favorite thing to watch so far in the Olympics. I was watching the ladies play (France/Norway) and it was awesome.

I'm really excited to see Jordan Burroughs in action, if he didn't win the gold medal I would be shocked.

Just for the hell of it, U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Phelps has shone a lack of concentration at the worse times and it's cost him. But a good Gold for the men's team.

He has certainly been off in London, and it just makes what he did in '08 that much more amazing. Good to see him at least bounce back with the 2nd fastest overall split in the relay and great to be able to witness such an enormous athletic achievement. He hasn't been great this Olympics but his career is second to none and this is something that may take half a century to outdo.

It'll be interesting to see how he does going into his other two individual events. He's dominated the 200 butterfly for 12 years and he should've one today but made a dumb mistake which makes me think we may not see an individual gold here in London from him. Certainly surprising, but he just doesn't have that hunger and concentration that he once did. Great in the relays but off in his individual events.

The 200 IM and the 100 Fly were going to be the toughest events (behind 400IM) coming into the Olympics so they will be tough. Still, he swam a tough race against Lochte in the 2011 worlds so maybe a silver or bronze in both.

Or maybe it was the deep bong hits in A^2. Whoever passed him the bowl hates the USA.

Just watched the women's 400 individual swim final. Ye Shiwen won with a time of 2:07:57. Afterwards, Bob Costas doesn't praise the young lady, instead he calls into question her performance and states the following:

"Eye opening results to be sure for Ye Shiwen, and these days, suspicion almost inevitably comes with the territory she's now entered with her remarkable swim times this week."

"Major breakthroughs come with sports....so does doping."

WTF?!?

Watching gymnastics now. The Russian ladies team just mucked up the floor exercise and the balance beam.

But it's tough watching these girls cry. I feel for them - they trained so hard and the tears are just flowing.

At least now you dont look at the Russians and think that their families are getting shipped out to Siberia by the KGB after they lose....

China... something tells me if they are expected to win and dont... bad things happen to family members

What? He then said that her jump in speed is common at her age and compared her to Michael Phelps.

Of course, she's Chinese and despite her turns being awful she had a faster freestyle split than Ryan Lochte in the same 400 IM event, so she's probably filthy.
