Great race by Schmitt. Blew away the field.
It's a shame for Franklin - she sacrificed her semifinal heat last night to conserve energy for the 100m Backstroke final - that decision paid dividends, but it cam at the cost of her lane assignment today. I think being in lane 8 hurt her a bit.

When I see Missy Franklin it makes me want to get my daughter in the pool. If she pulled the right DNA from her mother and I she's born to be a swimmer.

One of my favorite sports this Olympics has been the Handball. I can't believe that the US hasn't had a team in the Olympics since 96. I mean seriously we have so many freakish athletes in this country we could just make a team of college athletes that didn't make the pros in BB and FB and would seem to be competitive.
