Lebron makes it seem like his only mistake is that he wasn't who we thought he was/wanted him to be. But he fails to recognize that he created those expectations through his words, actions and demeanor over the past 7 years.
We thought he was a loyal guy; We thought he wanted to play in Cleveland; We thought he wanted to win a title here; We thought he had class; We thought he was grateful; We thought he was mature beyond his years; We thought he was a competitor; We thought he wanted to be the best; We thought he wouldn't embarrass the city on his way out; We thought he would play hard every time he stepped on the basketball court, especially in the most important games; and We thought he wasn't a coward.
Yes, we also wanted him to be all of those things we thought he was. Is that so bad? Are any of those expectations unrealistic or even unreasonable? Aren't they all good qualities to have?
Yes, he has proven that we were wrong. I, for one, don't apologize for being disappointed. He fooled us for seven years and now he wants to pretend like he was this person all along. I guess he's right; but he sure did a good job of acting like a decent person.
Now yes, please disappear.
