Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

they let them play last night. Amazing the difference. I'll be curious if the league comes down and suspends Anderson for Game 6. He should have been ejected for sure last night. I can't believe they didn't. Not that I would complain about Tyler Hansbrough getting shoved though......

They let Miami play last night. Indiana's offense was completely stagnant in the 2nd half, which is what will happen when the opposing team is permitted to foul at will.

Lebron was outstanding in the 3rd quarter, playing with an energy level that we unfortunately do not often see. I don't understand him. It's like he'll be the best player the world has ever seen when he feels like it. Well, he'll sure felt like it for about 12 minutes last night.

He is the best player in the world and sometimes, when things are clicking just right, you get something like what happened in the 3rd.

Indiana definitely giving the Spurs a good look at what will beat the Heat.

There's absolutely no reason why he doesn't give that type of effort throughout the game, every game. It wasn't just that he was hitting shots. He was all over the court, harassing on defense, doing everything on offense. It is absolutely frustrating to watch him when he's being lazy and disinterested because we all know what he's capable of - and he only shows it when his team's back is against the wall.

That's why the Pacers have no chance. I don't think the Spurs have a chance either.

Lebron is bigger than Laimbeer and Oakley. Those guys made a name for themselves jacking up smallish guards as they drove to the hoop. James is 250+ pounds. I'd love to see Oakley and Laimber try their antics on someone bigger than them.

edit
who knows how accurate this is but Wikipedia had Oakley at 6'9" 240. Bill Laimber at 6'11" 245.

Back when those two played, they wouldn't necessarily go body to body with someone, they'd sidestep him and clothesline his ass first.

And oakley was long considered one of the toughest and meanest basketball players in the NBA. He wouldn't be impressed by LeBitch.

This. They tried that flopping shit once, he would have broken out the Stan Hansen Lariat the next time down.

To me, there's little doubt LeBald is the best player in the world. His issues were/are all mental. You can tell there's times he still lacks confidence. That's what sets Jordan on a higher level, IMO. Dude was a stone-cold killer. Always. That's a trait LeBald lacks still.

He's gonna get his second ring. Stern will make sure of that. Like I've said, there is no way you can convince me that the nba is any different than the wwe when it comes to fixed outcomes.

Again, I cannot wait to see what he does after next season. If he wants to continue winning rings, I think he'll go elsewhere. Wade is aging rapidly, and the salary cap will prevent them from making significant upgrades. Personally, I hope he doesn't come back to Cleveland. [censored] him. Not that I think he will. My bet? He goes to LA to either:

a) replace Kobe with the Lakers

or

b) form a new "super team" with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin across town with the Clippers.

and I'd love to have seen him play back in that era.

First time he gets undercut/clotheslined and only gets his 2 free throws he turns into a 250+ LB 3 point shooter for the rest of his career.

Given the epic amount of shit players talked back in the day too, they'd all be in LeBrick's head from the first minute. We'd probably never get to see him go charging into the lane because he'd already know what was going to happen.

With the new CBA teams can't afford to have more than 2 max contracts or else the luxury tax will kill them. If a team is $15 million over the cap the repeat offender tax would be $44 mil with an extra $3.5 added on for every dollar above $15 mil.

That's the main reason the Heat will break up after next season. Lebron will opt out of his contract because any team with money will max him out. Wade and Bosh likely won't because nobody will give them max deals now. If Lebron wants to play with Paul they would probably have to trade Griffin for him.

That's the other reason I don't want the Cavs to go out and throw money at a max player. They have so many high draft picks that they will need the cap space to keep what they have together. The new NBA is smart drafting and signing. Luckily the age of the super-team only lasted 5 years.

Here's what they Heat will be looking at:
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...reak-team-2014-due-salary-213121115--nba.html
As a repeat taxpayer, the Heat will be facing the highest incremental tax rates in NBA history. If, for example, the luxury-tax threshold is established at $75 million -- a highly optimistic gain of roughly $5 million from this season -- the Heat could be faced with a tax bill approaching $48 million. In total, they would be paying $141.3 million for 12 players.
"They're going to have to break up their team,'' predicted a rival general manager who has done the math.
Unless the NBA's financial circumstances improve over the next couple of years, [owner Micky] Arison will be faced with two unhappy choices: The Heat could run a big deficit in 2014-15 to pursue the championship, or he could break up their winning roster by way of trades, amnesty or by not re-signing James, Wade or Bosh, should they exercise their options to become free agents in 2014.
If league revenues were to jump higher than expected over the next two years, the tax threshold would be raised accordingly and Arison might be able to find a way to escape with his team intact. But the NBA's TV contracts with ESPN/ABC and TNT don't expire until 2016, and league executives don't foresee major financial gains rescuing the NBA before the repeater tax takes effect.
