Dude's free-throw shooting and jump-shot have become strengths. I'm actually surprised b/c I didn't think he'd put the time in. That or he's just in a zone.

Either way, he's playing off the [censored]ing charts.

Heat in 5 against Dallas.

I want to go puke now.....

D-town in 6... Dirk becomes legendary.

Disagree. I don't think Dallas matches up well at all. I don't think many teams match up well with Miami though. They've become the best team in the NBA in the last month.

And it sucks.

It all depends on how well they contain the big 3... You contain two of the three, chances are you will be in a position to win at the end.

Big x factor for this upcoming series will be Peja Stojakovic, IMO. If he can knock down the threes, it'll put the pressure on the heat.

they are tall, they are DEEP, and they are fast. A lot for Miami to contend with there.

Dallas's bench is about to become non-existant against the Heat though. Miami has let LeBron and Wade play HEAVY minutes.

Dallas's second rotation includes Jason Terry, Peja, and JJ Barea.

It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to know that Barea, Terry, and Peja can't be on the court with Wade and LeBron at the same time. I think Spoelstra will make sure LeBron and Wade are on the court extended minute sto neutralize that line-up.

And Jason Terry is just in a tough spot this series irregardless. He won't get to guard Thebo Sefloasha or DaQuan Cook this series. He's going to need his big-boy pants.

Who is going to to able to guard Dirk? No one.

Dirk won't win the series on his own though. And I actually think Bosh will give him the best defense he has seen this post-season.

But you're right...Dirk in the zone is impossible to defend.

But so is a hot LeBron or D-Wade. It's just a tough match-up for Dallas, IMO. I think it goes 5, maybe 6.

I will say that one of Dallas's biggest advantgaes will by Tyson Chandler. At least Chandler can finish at the rim unlike Noah or Boozer. The issue will be getting the ball to him at the rim because Dallas doesn't really have any slashers. Derrick Rose was missing a Tyson Chandler.....

jason kidd will guard wade. he guarded kobe against the lakers and did pretty well. dallas will put terry on either bibby or chalmers. dallas will also rotate marion and stevenson on lebron. both are decent defenders. it is not nearly the mismatch you proport.

But Dallas likes to rest J Kidd when Terry is in a majority of the time. The typical substitution package is Terry for Stevenson, Peja for Marion, and Barea for Kidd.

They then get about 6 minutes of rest for Kidd with Barea running the point. You absolutely cannot have 3-4 minutes of Barea, Terry, and Peja in the game unless you try and run zone and just hope Miami misses shots.

When Kidd and Terry on the court together, Kidd will absolutely draw Wade. If Miami decides to go big and runs Wade, Miller, LeBron, Haslem, Anthony...I'm not sure how Dallas feels about hiding 6'3 Terry on 6'8 Mike Miller.

Another advantage for Miami is going to be the ball pressure Dallas brings...it's basically non-existant. Chicago did a great job of making it hard for LeBron and Wade to be the ball-handlers with good defensive pressure in th ebackcourt. Against Dallas, they won't see any pressure. It will be pick up at half-court...which means it will be easier for Spoelstra to let Wade/LeBron run point if that's what he chooses to do.

they will simply alter their rotations for when one of wade or lebron go out of the game, which typically happens later in the 1st quarter, with the other one going out in the 2nd. again, it's not nearly the mismatch you assert.

besides, dallas can simply run lineups that will give miami defensive nightmares and force them to make line-up moves as well, the door swings both ways.

The biggest asset Miami has is their defensive flexibility. I don't see a lineup Dallas can throw at Miami that forces Miami's hand.

The fact that Dallas will have to alter their rotations is problematic. Throughout the playoffs they have been able to beat teams with a second unit of Barea, Terry, and Peja...I just don't see bench depth as a huge determining factor in this series.

After game 1 it wasn't for Chicago. If Spoelstra is willing to play LeBron 45 minutes a night and D-wade 40+, it negates a deep bench.

But again, I like the size of Chandler and Haywood and think they can provide decent help inside. Haywood isn't scared of laying big fouls, and generally protects the rim pretty well. Chandler can create some offensive rebounding as well as a finisher at the rim.

In the end, I just like the wing play a lot more for Miami. If Jason Terry could grow 3 inches, Peja could learn how to defend, or Jason Kidd could match LeBron's minutes maybe I'd think differently.
