Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

MVP's.

Stats.

I don't know, just throwing things out there???

Lebron already had an MVP and Scoring Title. He was up 2-1 in the second round of the playoffs with home court advantage. He was a stones throw from the eastern finals. Then the wheels fell off...AS A TEAM.

Maybe Mo Williams was in on it with LBJ. He sure tanked the Boston series as well scoring 4, 13, and 9 points on 10/38(26%) shooting in 3 of the Boston Losses. Lebron prolly kicked him back some cash for helping him lose series.

I bet Antawn was in on it too. After all, he only scored 14,9, and 5 points in the 3 game losing streak that ended the Cavs playoffs run. He shot 33% in those 3 games after averaging 20 pts and 47% shooting against Chicago.

Why isn't Gilbert bashing Antawn and Williams? They "gave up" and "tanked" it against Boston as well.

Cleveland got beat by a better team. Boston started Gelling towards the end of the year. They were a much better team than their seed would indicate. Not to mention they were a veteran team with championship experience. This was a Boston team that took Kobe to a game 7 and still almost won without their starting center.

Mo was bad in last years Magic series, too. Can't speak for Jamison.

Look, I'm not saying LBJ tanked. But anybody that has watched him play in any amount, knows that was a different LBJ. Elbow injury, sure - maybe. But that looked and felt like somebody other than LBJ.

I don't know that there was a conspiracy--but I buy Gilbert's comments that LeBron quit in the playoffs. He just didn't care anymore. If you watched the games, you'd think so too. He was absolutely wretched.

Anyone who that thinks that LBJ would throw playoff games has there head so far up there ass it isn't even funny. Why would he bust his ass for an 82 game season to get the best record in the league if he was just going to tank it in the playoffs. He would have just mailed in the season and saved the wear and tear on his body

With all due respect, anybody who thinks the scope of James' indifference or obstruction are simply limited to this year's playoffs have their heads up their asses.

I've said this probably once every ten pages for quite a while - James' disposition toward ownership and the front office prevented people like Danny Ferry from being the best stewards they could possibly be for the Cavs' roster beyond the any given postseason.

This was an off-the-court issue more than anything.

Besides, you're trying to rationalize the thinking of a 25-year-old HS graduate who just went on national TV to take a dump on his hometown and former employer. Why should it be necessary to reconcile his motivation for the playoffs with his motivation for the regular season? I watched him play day in and day out for seven years. His effort and focus in the Celtics series was not up to his standard.

Who's Your Daddy?.......

D.C. lawyer claims he's LeBron James's father

As if LeBron James hadn't brought enough drama into his own life. While the NBA superstar was building nationwide suspense over which city he'd sign with, a D.C. lawyer quietly filed a $4 million suit claiming he was the player's father -- and that James and his mother conspired to cover it up.
"This suit is really about whether he's my son and I'm his father," Leicester Bryce Stovell, 55, told us Friday. "This is not one of those popping out of woodwork to exploit a celebrity's fame and fortune."
Stovell's suit, which challenges James's oft-told story of abandonment by an ex-con dad, is a bit of a mindbender. The Princeton grad claims he had a one-night stand with Gloria James in 1984 -- according to his story, he met the 15-year-old (he thought she was in her 20s) at the nightclub D.C. Space when she was visiting from Akron. In his 23-page lawsuit filed in federal court, Stovell claims the young woman sought him out a few months later, saying she was pregnant and planned to name her son LeBron. Stovell says he never heard from her again. (LeBron James was born in Ohio the following December.)

He's convinced he bears a strong resemblance to James both in facial feature and height (Stovell is 6-foot-8).

Go back and watch the tape against the Celtics.

Dude. Didn't. Care.

people were accusing him of tanking the series DURING the series (or at least wondering what his deal was). So to tell people who think something wasn't fishy have their heads up their asses shows you may have yours up there a littttttle bit further.

I don't know how a person can get on here and say something was not going on with LeBron during that Celtics series. Maybe it was his elbow, maybe he just found out that Delonte was fucking his mom, or maybe his mind was already on the beach, but I have never seen LeBron's body language or his game like that...

I don't think what I said was over the top. He is an ass. Read how Bill Simmons put it: Bill Simmons: The All-LeBron sound-off - ESPN

You're not even in the same time zone as over-the-top. The bar has been thoroughly reset by this email from Simmons' article:

I want the Knicks to bring back Charles Oakley and Xavier McDaniel on 10-day contracts to injure him. I want Kobe Bryant (yes, Kobe!) to destroy him so badly every time they play that he loses confidence, Rick Ankiel style. I want him to lose in the first round and then break his leg in the offseason, only to see Wade and Bosh win without him (and have him screw up the chemistry when he comes back). I want him to join the French World Cup soccer team. I want him to go into the stands and attack a child in a wheelchair. I want it to come out that he was point-shaving. I want Cleveland fans to throw urine water balloons at him. I want Castro to annex Miami. I want Florida income taxes to spike to 73%.

I'm so glad I never cared about pro basketball. Got no merchandise to burn. But, I still feel like [censored] for Cleveland. I get it--both the other sports teams there have taken a piece of my heart & stomped on it. I really hoped the pretender-to-the-throne was gonna manage one trophy for them before he split.

Now that he's completed The Desertion, LBJ better pray nothing goes awry in Miami, 'cause should his welcome wear out there, or in the NBA altogether, well...remember Robert Frost's quote? "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in."

The boy-king may still own a house near Cleveland, but a Home? He doesn't have one of those to go back to--he burned his to the ground and salted the earth behind him.

You might wish for something that has a chance of actually happening, like: "I want the millions of gallons of oil from BP's leaking oil rig to totally blanket Miami's South Beach".

Maybe it was his team playing like dog[censored]. I watched the whole series as well. No one played well. It would have been great if he averaged 50 points a game to beat the Celtics or if in '08 Orlando didn't shoot the 3 like crazy. Problem is, the Celtics defenses dictated that Lebron would not beat them and no one else stepped up. You cannot win as a one man team in the playoffs. And that is what Cleveland was for the last 3 games. In the two games that Cleveland won, Mo had 20 in game one and Antawn had 20 in game 3. In game 6 Mo ended up with 20+ points but shot 9/22 from the field.

Arizona sports radio says the Suns would have dealt Amare to Cleveland if the Cavs would have included Hickson and they wouldn't.

That's not what I heard. I heard they offered Z, JJ, Danny Green, and draft picks and it wasn't enough for the Suns to pull the trigger. That's a lot to give up to get a guy for 4 months with no guarantee that he'll sign with you after the season. Not saying what you heard is wrong, but there are sources spouting different reports. As far as I know Danny Ferry and Steve Kerr aren't talking.
