Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Maybe it was his team playing like dog[censored]. I watched the whole series as well. No one played well. It would have been great if he averaged 50 points a game to beat the Celtics or if in '08 Orlando didn't shoot the 3 like crazy. Problem is, the Celtics defenses dictated that Lebron would not beat them and no one else stepped up. You cannot win as a one man team in the playoffs. And that is what Cleveland was for the last 3 games. In the two games that Cleveland won, Mo had 20 in game one and Antawn had 20 in game 3. In game 6 Mo ended up with 20+ points but shot 9/22 from the field.

A career .440 shooter shooting .409 isn't a collapse. A .475 career shooter shooting .214 is.

You might wish for something that has a chance of actually happening, like: "I want the millions of gallons of oil from BP's leaking oil rig to totally blanket Miami's South Beach".

I'd be down with that if the only lower forms of life swimming in those waters were basketball players.

Who shot .214? Lebron shot 41.4% from the field against boston which isn't lighting the world on fire but it isn't a total and utter collapse. He shot 40% in game 6 with a triple double (including 19 boards). The fact that he grabbed 19 boards showed he was putting forth the effort. Rebounds don't just come to you. You have to ge get them.

I would have loved for him to shot 50% from the field and go for about 48 in game 6 but it didn't happen.

Lebron James has done what I thought was truly impossible, take himself forever out of the conservation of top 10 basketball players of all time. I can't wait to watch the first Heat-Cavs game in Cleveland. I'm expecting Dan Gilbert to give out TRAITOR t-shirts to everyone in attendance. Lebron has no idea, and none of his cronies do either, how much credibility and likability he just lost with "The Decision" on ESPN. Don't get me wrong, Lebron was free to leave Cleveland as his contract was up, but I hope he enjoys being booed and harassed at every arena in the country not located in Miami.

He tanked games 2/4/5 moreso than Game 6. He had more turnovers in that series than he had all season (obviously sarcasm but you get the idea) and when he did he WALKED down the court showing NO emotion.

Jack up a 3 and miss? oh well let's walk down the court shrugging like you don't give a shit. Mo and Jamison obviously didn't play great ball in that series either but at least they showed emotion and effort as if though they cared.

I'm really anxious to hear what was said between KG and LQJ after game 6. Post Game Garnett just said he told LeBron to keep his head up but obviously there was more to it than that.

.214 was game 5. His game 6 also had 9 turnovers.

LeBron was the MVP the past two seasons. During the regular season he shot over .500 and averaged just over 3 turnovers. I think making 20% less and having 200% more turnovers in your best game of a series are more telling than the triple double.

LeBron James booed at Carmelo Anthony's wedding - Ball Don't Lie - NBA? - Yahoo! Sports

:slappy:

As for the quitting argument, even the most objective person can look at his body language the last three games of that series and begin to question him. After blowing Boston out, on it's home floor, by 30, he suddenly goes into a funk? Yeah, the whole team played like shit, but when your superstar player and supposed "leader" is moping around, that is a bit of a by-product...

Udonis Haslem opts for smaller contract to stay in Miami. I have a feeling Miami isn't going to have much trouble putting some quality guys around these three.

What about Fisher? I think its going to be a lot harder than everyone thinks. You'll only end up getting aging, probably well past their prime vets who are chasing a ring al la malone and payton... will it work, sure it might for a while, but eventually the vets will get fed up... BTW heard a comment that Haslem turned down the mid level in dallas. The comment was they didn't even believe he had that offer because no one takes a pay cut from 5yrs ~34M to 4yrs ~11M.. I agree

Fisher turned down the heat and is staying with the Lakers. So heat get Haslem to take less money, but Fisher takes less money to stay with Lakers.

Lebron's unwillingness to commit to Cleveland hurt the franchise's efforts to put pieces around him. See Trevor Ariza and Ron Artest.

I had been saying for years that if he would commit to the team they could actually sign a real #2 for him.
Unfortunately even I didnt see he was just playing the Cavs and Cleveland/Akron for last 3 years.
