Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

So, what do you think the chances are that the Cavs will show LeBron's image at the arena this next season? I am expecting it to show up when the opposition is taking free throws.

Well, it's for sure this image won't be there next season...or next week:

LeBron James: Ten-story-tall mural of King James in downtown Cleveland is being torn down

I can imagine at least one appropriate place to keep his image. Think there might be a market in Cleveland for these?

edit: For those who might not already know, there really are companies that make this type of thing. i.e.,
Custom urinal screens pee on sports teams political figures - Personalized advertising picture urinal cakes

However, not this exact product because there is a licensing problem with sports types' images being considered "private" rather than public property, according to the authorities at peepeeface (and they should know :) ).

Modell won a Super Bowl... do we hate him less? or more? because we feel that was OUR Superbowl victory he took away...

If King Vag wins... we'll see it same way... that will be OUR title he stold from us

you misread my post. He will always be hated in cleveland. If he wins titles, it will go away in the rest of the world. No one outside of Cleveland considers The Ravens superbowl a super bowl that was stolen from cleveland.

Two very different situations, just from a sociological standpoint. First, the decision to move was in 1996 and they won the super bowl in 2000. If it took these three 4 years to win a championship, I'd say they failed. More importantly, the 10M plus viewers of "The Decision" are probably comprised of mostly perfunctory fans. People watching Cleveland burn jerseys on national television couldn't tell you who won the championship this year. It is hard to argue that all of this would not have a profound impact on LeBron James' brand and image to the majority of people that do not follow the NBA. When and if he gets a ring, most people won't know or care about it unless they're from Miami or Ohio.

People knew when Michael Jordan won a championship. Maybe the times have just changed, but I think that makes this even more painful for James as there won't be an opportunity to redeem himself. He has forever damaged his reputation.

What will go away if he wins a title? The bad PR? Maybe. But not the sentiment that he took the easy way out and the lingering question/presumption that he couldn't get it done on his own. His reputation may be repaired by winning with Bosh and Wade, who knows, but his legacy as a great player will forever be in question because of his cop out move.

Maybe not, but this move is extra disgusting because the message sent to the kids wearing his jersey is "if you can't get it done as quickly as you'd like, quit and find someone else that can do it for you."

When the pressure is on, and after you've had your worst playoff performances to date, stop trying. Forget where you're from, forget about the state of Ohio which has made you what you are today, and take a giant [censored] on them on national television. What people like LeBron James fail to realize is they need us more than we need them. We idolize people of his talent because they play for our team. We go through agonizing relationships with these sports teams. But, these players don't realize we exist anymore. He showed the world that he doesn't give a flying [censored] about Cleveland. All of those little kids wanting his autograph, wearing his jersey, participating in the King for kids: LeBron James doesn't give a [censored] about you. He doesn't give a [censored] about your mom, your dad, your grandma or your grandpa, or your little sister Jane. LeBron James doesn't give a [censored] about cold ass Cleveland, where he grew up fatherless. The homeless? [censored] them. LeBron James hates kittens and puppies--if they're from Cleveland. This son of a bitch had the nerve to show off his Yankees cap at Jacobs Field. All you need to know about LeBron James is that he was a high school friend of Maurice Clarett. Did I mention he doesn't give a [censored] about you? LeBron James chose to go to Miami with a poser who wants nothing more than to be known as one of the greats. The other person? Dwyane Wade--attempting to topple Wilt Chamberlains record with his drug fueled sex parties. They don't give a flying [censored] about you--that is the most important lesson to take from this. Sure, buy their jerseys, wear their shoes, make your cardboard signs, and cheer their names Miami. They'll leave you as loose and sloppy as the girls they pick up for their parties or worse yet, as bad as LeBron left Cleveland.

LeBron James can kiss my ass. I'll make sure my kids use him as an example of how a man should not carry himself.

The state of Ohio didn't make him what he is today.

As for the rest of this post...it's a little over the top and really doesn't require comment. James' real curse was being drafted by his hometown team which caused him to be held to a higher standard.

Disagree. Being the #1 pick, calling yourself the King, having Chosen-1 tattooed on your back will not lower the expectations.

LeBron dosen't have a "curse" - this dude lives the [censored]ing dream. LeBron is the reason Mike Brown hung around as long as he did, and Lebron is the reason the Cavs went out and over-spent each and every year to win "right now." The only curse LeBron has is himself/his "advisors" from Akron.

LeBron is a [censored]ing douche. I'm one of the few who felt that way while he was still in Cleveland. He isn't a winner.. he isn't a leader. And he sure as [censored] ain't Jordan or even Kobe.

He hasn't been cursed by anything. His problem is that he went on national TV and turned his back on his hometown and his state, to the contrary of his earlier statements that he loves Akron and Ohio and will bring a championship here.

Being drafted by Cleveland wasn't a curse. If he hadn't spent the last four years with one eye on playing for another team while simultaneously holding it over the heads of the Cavs' front office, ownership and fans, he possibly could've accomplished everything he promised - everything he thinks the move to Miami will *finally* allow him to do.

Where was this outrage for the last 4 years then? Cleveland fans should have been raking him over the coals like this for years.

Bingo. His doing everything he could to pave his way out of Cleveland were his undoing in the playoffs each year.
