The reason he is number two on the depth chart is we lost freshman Scott McVey to a season ending and possibly career threatening shoulder injury.

. . . However, very well-informed sources at the game told our people that while there is some legitimate concern, it is premature to assume McVey?s shoulder injury is career-threatening. That said, it may require surgery in the weeks ahead. At present, it is apparent McVey will at least redshirt this season, then rehab so he can get try and get back on the field next year.
