LB Scott McVey (official thread)

Scott is now a 4 star on scout and the 6th ranked MLB. I think his stock is going to go up even more after this season.

new scout profile

:osu:

Scout once again proves it's ranking supremacy over Rivals...not because they bumped up one of our commits, but because it is plain stupid not to have McVey a top 100 player, let alone a 4 star.

Mcvey is a football player pure and simple. He makes plays. He's a kid where the game film looks like the highlight film and thats rare. He's in on that many plays.

Also, somebody who would know said Mcvey ran on the 4x100 team so his speed shouldn't be questioned. Kids legit.

Free Rivals - Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Impressions from the Road: Northeast Ohio

LB-Scott McVey (Ohio State commit)- St. Ignatius- McVey has added some good bulk to his frame, and it appears his body has widened a bit since last year, which alleviates some of the concern about whether he has the frame and size potential to play in the box at the college level. McVey did not get too many chances to show what he can do against a pass-happy Twinsburg squad, but he used his added power on a couple of occasions to blow up blockers and disrupt plays in the backfield. Expect McVey to have another huge season for the Wildcats.

St. Ignatius kids are almost always studs at tOSU. Why? It is a given that they will be smart, disciplined, well coached in HS, and very hard working. Add in the athleticism to garner an offer from tOSU-watch out Big 10!

Free BN - Injured McVey Watches Fantastic Finish From Sideline | Football Recruiting Article

With 10:28 remaining in the Glenville vs. St. Ignatius game, Scott McVey came off the field for good. He suffered a shoulder injury as the result of putting pressure on the Tarblooder quarterback and would not return to action as his Wildcats were trailing 13-7 at the time.

"My shoulder popped out and popped back in," McVey said. "They thought I might have tore some stuff (and wanted) like an MRI but it feels fine. I feel I could have came back in but it?s all right."

It certainly wasn't all right while McVey watched the game unfold from the sideline.

"It sucked," he said. "But coming out with the victory is awesome because (of) those guys I've been to school with the last four years. So it was tough but I was really proud of those guys."
