Congrats to McVey...welcome to the Buckeye family!

And thanks to RB07OSU for keeping the BPRT in the loop on this one...we had a feeling this was coming but didn't want to steal Scott's thunder on his big day.

Scott McVey of St. Ignatius gives oral commitment to Ohio State
by Doug Lesmerises
Saturday April 25, 2009

Ohio State's spring game brought a fifth commitment for the Class of 2010 today.

Linebacker Scott McVey of St. Ignatius said he told Jim Tressel around noon that he wanted to play for the Buckeyes. McVey is one of several future Buckeyes on hand in Ohio Stadioum for today's Scarlet and Gray game.

McVey said he made his decision about a week ago.

"I was always an Ohio State fan," McVey said. "I always wanted to play here, but I wanted to have an open mind, too."

McVey's father, Dave, is an Ohio State fan as well and couldn't have been happier with his son's choice.

"We talked to a lot of coaches," Dave McVey said. "But there's nobody like Coach Tressel."

Huge Get! Wow this is great. The state championship game he played was incredible. Big-Time Players play big in the big games and if anyone that saw the game Scott played then I can't imagine a better get for our defense.

:oh:

Agree, he gave Elder all they could handle, and unfortunately that was a big big difference. But I'm definitely glad he's coming to OSU. :io:
