LB Raekwon McMillan (New England Patriots)

The way he ran the ball in his highlight film made me think that this could be another Myles Jack type of player. Not that we need any help at RB but you never know in a pinch.

I hope you're kidding... We have EzE, Rod smith, brionte Dunn, warren ball, dontre Wilson, AND Paris Campbell and Curtis samuel.... I don't think we'd ever need him at the RB position next year by any stretch of the imagination

On another note. Huge commit for Osu, and even bigger that he's enrolling early! This class is shaping up to be pretty dynamic on both sides of the ball. Raekwon is also a great player at a position of need. This commitment speaks volumes to how well urban and staff can recruit and puts those southern coaches on even more notice.

Just watched the kid's film, and I have to profess that I'm not a football x&o guy, but the thing that stood out even for an amateur like me was how he always managed to keep the shoulder pads square (on D and O), meeting the ball carrier in the hole, and explodes through the ball carrier. If you want film on the fundamentals of tackling and sound defensive techniques, this kid just has it.

So freakin' happy right now. :urban1:

Like I said, it's not like we need him at RB. My point was that he is the type of athlete like Jack who could go both ways if needed "in a pinch". You never know with injuries and transfers.

And, yes, GREAT commit for the good guys. Really hoping that all this 4 star and 5 star talent at LB starts to pay off as early as next year. Also hoping that Bell and others step up in the Defensive backfield.

Merry Christmas Friend!

I'm an amateur, but my first impression is that he does a lot of arm tackling and hits guys standing up a lot. That's going to be effective when he's a manimal destroying children, but worried a lot of RBs and some QBs (notably one up north) at this level would break those. He certainly gets himself in the right place, however. Would love it if him and Shazier were able to get on the field at the same time, unlikely as it is for various reasons.
Overall I try not to have expectations for all the 4-star and 5-star recruits. If they have a Bosa-like season, then bully. But no logical reason to expect it. There's a big gap between any level of HS and the top echelon of D1A. It's also hard to believe the staff would jump him over a returning Senior starter given how Bryant's backup seemingly became the Senior starter by default this year.

Watch these two highlight videos back to back and feel better. I think Laurinaitis and Raekwon have very similar styles. Perfect MLBs.

Could Raekwon ever see action as a DE of some variation in at least certain packages? I'm just curious if he adds 15 pounds of muscle to 250 or he just a crushing force in the middle LBer at that point?
